It is very restrictive and basically…

It is very restrictive and basically not worth the price. If you commute during the week, you basically cannot use it for a normal fare below £13. It is however not clear and hides these restrictions in jargon. First time I used it I got a discount of £1.90 and was very happy, not realising it was only because it was a bank holiday. I only travel Monday to Friday and its a £39 piece of junk.

Shambles

Totally useless website. Purchase using Tesco voucher broken (no button to complete the purchase). Having got through to the support people they apologised, said they knew about the issue and I'd have to wait 48 hours for it to be fixed. And if I wanted a card I could get one from the station at full price. So my Tesco code is useless. Absolute shambles

For years it has been near impossible…

For years it has been near impossible to register with a German passport or national ID card, because Germany’s ICAO county code is D<<, as opposed to most countries which have 3 letters (e.g. GRB). The identification form will just flat out refuse if the input has 28 characters (instead of 30) or contains < symbols.

3 years ago I had to apply in-person, and now that I have to renew, I’ll likely have to do the same. I really hope that it will be fixed soon.

Crooked advertising

Crooked advertising and marketing that hides important use restrictions in very small print in terms and conditions. Second paragraph of welcome letter once card is purchased (too late!) tells you the restrictions: these (and all) restrictions are airbrushed out of the sales information on webpage. CROOKS

As others mentioned my wife and I…

As others mentioned my wife and I purchased over 60s railcard online and downloaded app only to find my wife had been signed up to a cashback voucher scheme who debited 18 pounds monthly, she had to stop her card but it happened again .She rang railcard who stated it was nothing to do with them despite them handing over my wifes card details. We wont be renewing our railcard. It took great difficulty stopping authorisation. The company stating my wife must have clicked agree button which she certainly did not.

Oh how I wish I had read the reviews…

Oh how I wish I had read the reviews before I embarked on trying to purchase a senior railcard. They manage to take money from me without any problem, so why have I got round and round in circles for a week, umpteen emails and even sending photos of the error page. It seems the same comments were being made since 2022 so why haven’t they sorted out their issues. Just contact train line and ask them for advice on how to provide a seamless service. See how long it takes them to issue me a refund .

There are systemic problems with this company

There are systemic problems with this company including long delays in responding to customers' concerns.
They must detach themselves from Completesave which fraudulently signs customers up for £18 monthly membership with bank data supplied by Rail card. SIMPLY NOT GOOD ENOUGH. I have been debited two lots of £18 without my permission. The REGULATOR needs to be involved urgently. Where are they?

I would have expected better from Railcard

Whilst ordering my Senior Railcard in July I inadvertently signed up to my-time rewards which automatically take £18 a month from my bank. I've looked at my-time rewards reviews and it's a common issue. Railcard, I am very disappointed that you allow this, it's extremely easy to fall for this 'legal' scam through your website

10/10 Customer service

My phone was unfortunately stolen while I was travelling and my railcard was in the back of my phone case. I called today to see if I could seek a replacement and Jaitra was so helpful and kind. He sorted me a new railcard free of charge (as I had verified my account and also the criminal reference number) with no hesitation. I would like to say again he was so kind, and had amazing customer service. Thank you Jaitra!! I would love if this could be passed onto him.

Don't Be Put Off

I was very discouraged by all the negative reviews here, but I tried using the railcard.co.uk website in Chrome on a Windows PC and it was easy enough to buy a 3 year senior railcard for myself and download it onto my phone almost immediately. I already had a suitable picture, and used my (30 digit!) passport number to verify myself.

Shocking Customer Service :

I renewed my Railcard in August, following a Link and Reminder sent to me via Email ...

I have been using Railcard for the last 9 Years, starting with a Network Railcard, and then moving to Senior Network Three Year's ago when I turned 60 ...
This has been a great help with costs due to the amount of Travelling I do as a Live In Carer, all over The UK ...

A few Weeks ago, travelling back from Worcester, a Revenue Inspector boarded the Train and checked my Ticket, and then asked me to show my Railcard, which I duly did ...
He pointed out to me that I had purchased my Ticket using Senior Discount, when my Railcard showed Network Discount ...

I was horrified . I had absolutely no idea.!
He said it didn't matter as Both Discounts applied to the South East of The UK, but would not be valid in the Rest of The UK, bearing in mind a Senior Railcard would ...

I called Railcard and explained that I followed the Prompt on my Email step by step, and only became aware of this when the Inspector pointed it out ...!

She said this had happened in August, and this was now November, and I pointed out I was aware of this, but this was definitely not my fault, as I did what the Prompt asked, and was completely oblivious to this ...
She was very dismissive, and put me on hold ...!
When she finally returned, she informed me that the Powers That Be, said it was too late, and I would have to either continue using this one, or pay for a New One ...!?

Appalling, Shocking and Disgraceful ...!

Superb Support

Made a muddle trying to get Senior Railcard for me and my husband. INTAQUAB was soo helpful, patient and courteous that both railcards were done instantly. I used a voucher which meant toing and froing on emails, taking photos and emailing them whilst still engaged on the phone, ensuring that I had the App the confirmation it had all gone through.

Brilliant service, intaquab. Thank you
