We completed both the sale of our old house and the purchase of our new house on the same day in April 2026 with both handled by the same team at Ramsdens – Scott, Wendy and Thomas. Although initially both processes were out of sync and a number of issues arose at different times throughout the process, due to their hard work we managed to complete both on the same day. Throughout the process they dealt with everything in a professional, timely and friendly manner – no matter whether it was the procedural aspect of our sale/purchase or the queries we came up with during the process. It also made no difference whether the query came from ourselves or the Estate Agents we used. This company is an absolute disgrace.
No idea of what they are doing.
Keys from the house we are buying handed to us and we have been in the property with builders etc only for this Shower of incompetent set of things not to transfer monies to the relevant people.
The owners have now got the keys back and are sleeping on an inflatable mattress in a 1/2 destroyed house.

I cannot recommend Ramsdens enough. What should have been a straightforward house sale quickly turned into something far more “character-building” thanks to a series of complications caused by a previous solicitor’s involvement and the Land Registry. Throughout Diana, Leah and Grace handled every twist and turn with calm professionalism and outstanding problem solving, sharp expertise and - thankfully - good senses of humour.

Communication was excellent, i was kept well informed and anything that needed to be explained was broken down clearly and without jargon. When issues arose (and they did!) they were proactive and solution focused, leaving me reassured that things were not spiralling (even it felt that way to them). In my experience for a number of year's now we have lived in a world which is all about marketing but severely lacking in substance. As a result I have rarely found good service. Mediocrity from my experience tends to be the level most companies aim for at best (and then expect great feedback!). Well at long last I can say with no reservation I have received 5 star plus service from Laura, Lilly and Richardene. They are all an absolute credit to Ramsden's solictors. The phone was answered everytime I rang, by a human being! All questions were answered promptly and efficiently and without doubt I will be using them again on my next purchase -a big thank you ladies. We were selling our property and moving to a new house, and engaged Ramsdens to help with both the sale and the purchase. They were excellent throughout and very efficient.

We mainly dealt with Lily B at the Huddersfield office who was excellent. We had a tricky chain which delayed things and our house move almost fell through, but with Ramsdens' help we managed to complete last week.

I found my experience with Ramsden Solicitors very positive.
They were commissioned to deal with a difficult case of distributing the estate of a relative who died interstate.
I was the administrator. Mr. Jagger, Karen and all the team took their time to explain each part of the process in lay terms. They did not act without writing to inform me.
I am on the autistic spectrum and so my exacting demands were at times enough to try anyone's patience .
However the team took time to know what I would need before I even asked .
The whole difficult process was therefore undertaken with care , clarity and diligence.

My parents have used Ramsdens in the past, and had been most happy with their service however I found them rather difficult to get hold of. I wanted to discuss a conveyancing matter and tried to speak to someone in my local office but you just go through to the switchboard in Huddersfield and subsequent attempts arrive at someones voicemail. I then asked to speak to the Head of Conveyancing but this person 'wasn't available'. I appreciate that firms have to route their calls but one's patience runs out after numerous attempts. Anyway, after deciding to visit the Holmfirth office, large replacement windows and doors were being installed in the reception entrance so I just ended up walking past as part of the pavement was blocked. I would suggest, that rather than sprucing offices up with 'on trend' fittings and, what appears to be a rather vanilla brand relaunch, they should concentrate on getting the basics right like answering the phone.
