Bad business / poor service / scam

Despite being a customer that ordered on several occasions since 1996, last year (2024) was a very disappointing experience. I had ordered three times that year for over 600€. On october 16 i received 3 e-mails stating that my orders were complete and on their way. Neither of them arrived. My enquiries were met with silence.
No refund no explanation!

Virused Amaryllis belladonna stock - do not buy

I asked the seller prior to purchase about the health of their plants and specifically requested them to confirm their stocks are virus free, which they did. The plants they sell are very expensive. Personally I am happy to support a smaller grower rather than a large scale commercial operation, but I cannot stand dishonesty and ignorance. The Amaryllis belladonna 'Durban' I received is now showing signs of a viral infection. It could not get infected after purchase, as it is grown in a pot, indoors. It was never in contact with any pests or infected plants. I have had no reply from the seller after requesting information recently. I wish I had checked the reviews before purchasing anything from them. Very disappointing, AVOID.

No customer service.

A nice selection of unusual plants but if there is an issue they will ignore you. Very poor customer service. Out of approximately 10 emails sent to this company I haven’t received a single response.

I was sent a cyclamen tuber that lasted less then 1 weeks before it started rotting and 2 cyclamen hederifolium cultivar ‘Lysander’ that were standard hederifolium cyclamen when they grew (for cyclamen I would recommend Ashwood over rareplants).

I put in a PayPal claim to try and trigger a response but they continued to ignore my messages.

I Really a disappointment two wild peonies with…

I bought two wild peonies with phytosanitary certificate; plants seized by the Italian customs because they declared the value of the package equal to one euro and declared that the contents were a medical surgical device. Requested postponement or refund due to their mistake (the customs says that the phytosanitary certificate is not there) they say they refund only if the customs returns the package to them! It isn't an incorrect address but a false declaration on the contents of the package. Really a disappointment

I spent almost 100 dollars on these and not one grew. So I just messaged them saying nothing grew didn’t ask for any money back or anything. I get a message that I could get a refund and to send my purchase number. I did. Next day I was blocked. DO NOT SOEND YOUR MONEY AT THIS STORE BUY ELSE WHERE!

Bad business practice!

I ordered 3 bulbs of Lilium martagon cattaniae in September 2010
The price of these bulbs were £ 12.50 each.
In 2012 the bloomed and they look like any ordinary lilium martagon just pink purple not slightly darker than the usual pink lilium martagon., Or any color shifts.
I send e-mail and pitcure I spoke about my dissatisfaction to the Rare Plants since I had paid a lot for these bulbs, and wanted some form of compensation. I also wrote that I could think of to send back the buds and get me my money back because I felt cheated and did not want to pay £ 12.50 for a standard lilium matagon.
I have sent several e-mail but have not received any response from the Rare Plants.
Will never shop there.
I am a trained gardener and I have closely followed and managed these three lilium martagon.v cattaniae since delivery 2010th
