MB Decorators Ltd painted the outside of my house. Quote was from this site. Communication from Charlie was excellent, quote was reasonable and firmed up following a visit to the house. Job was weather dependant but they contacted me at first hint of good weather and 3 guys got the job done over 2 days. Workmen were excellent

Disappointed
We asked for our garden lawn to be mowed, borders to be weeded and rubbish to be removed. Had a quote of £240 for the work which the gardener said would take most of a day. He came with another man, took one hour, didn’t remove any weeds from the borders or the rubbish and didn’t cut the grass properly. Very disappointed.

YES THATS RIGHT ! THESE LOT WONT LET YOU CANCEL NO MATTER WHAT.
I cancelled 1 day after taking it out because i realised it was a mis-sold subscription,
yet they billed me every month for a year and when they couldn’t get the money they sent debt collectors. So there’s no cooling off period atall! You decide if you wanna sign up to this ?

he could of blown the flat and should be fined

to add to this 6 months later the floor is cracking where he did not cement or fill in holes underneath and the tiles are now falling on the wall as he did not put wood underneath to support the kitchen top . he forgot to put plinths on top of the howden cupboards and brackets to hold the plinths at the bottom .. he has cost me at least 2,000 in electrics , plumbers and joiners to put it right !

I hired a guy called Scott last year and he in the end was abusing, bullying and claimed to be a professional. Didn’t do the work in my kitchen and ripped me off for at lest £500.

Paisley contractors are great to work with
I was pleased with Rated people to find Trades. I decided on Paisley Contractors to do the job. I am very happy with the painting done by Steven & Scott. The price was brilliant & the boys did the job in a few hours, very tidy and I will certainly use them again.

Misleading recommendations and no real accountability
My experience with Rated People has seriously undermined my trust in the platform.
I used it to find a contractor for a fencing job. The tradesperson recommended to me appeared to primarily work as a painter/decorator, yet was matched to a fencing project. The work carried out was poor and quickly became unsafe, forcing me to pay for urgent repairs at my own expense.
I submitted a detailed complaint with clear evidence (photos, timeline, costs). Rated People acknowledged it and said they contacted the tradesperson, but no meaningful action followed.
The most concerning part is that my honest review of the trader was removed. That raises real questions about how reliable and transparent the platform’s review system actually is.
From my experience, Rated People provides limited protection when things go wrong and its recommendation process did not give me confidence that the tradesperson was suitably matched to the job.
I would strongly advise anyone using this platform to carry out their own checks and not rely solely on the ratings or suggested tradespeople.

After being badly let down by task rabbit to assemble flat packed furniture I turned to the Internet to look for alternatives and came across Rated People .
