Water-Based Biocide Sterilising Solution GS37 is designed to kill mould, algae and their spores before overcoating with anti-mould systems. It penetrates porous surfaces and prepares the substrate for long-term protection when used with compatible topcoats such as Fungi-Shield. It dries into the surface rather than forming a film, ensuring strong adhesion for any subsequent coating system. Its function is preventative as well as curative, giving a treated surface a controlled biological kill to limit future regrowth. Heavily affected areas benefit from a second application. If discolouration remains, the affected zones may require further treatment, or a stain blocker if marks are unrelated to mould. Where It Can Be Used GS37 is suitable for internal walls and ceilings in homes, commercial buildings and other damp-prone environments. It prepares substrates for paint application in areas previously affected by condensation, water ingress or poor ventilation. It should only be applied when surfaces are sound, dry, and free from loose or friable coatings. It must not be used externally during damp weather, on surfaces below 10°C, or where relative humidity exceeds 85%. It should not be used with a wire brush during surface preparation, as this can spread spores that the product is intended to kill. Application Guidance The solution is supplied ready to use and must not be diluted. Apply with a brush or lint-free cloth, ensuring thorough wetting of the surface. Allow a minimum of 24 hours drying before reapplication or overcoating. Maintain good ventilation during application and drying. If stains persist after treatment, reapply GS37 or use an appropriate stain blocker before applying an anti-mould coating.
