Juno Dynafast Primer DYNAFAST 2/C is a high-performance, quick-drying epoxy primer formulated with zinc phosphate for advanced corrosion protection. Engineered for tough environments, it performs reliably as a primer or intermediate coat in epoxy and polyurethane systems. Its high solids and fast curing properties make it ideal for industrial, marine, and commercial metalwork exposed to high moisture, chemical splashes, and saline air. Recommended Areas of Use Steel structures in coastal or industrial areas Galvanised components subject to moisture and temperature variation Indoor and outdoor metal frameworks, tanks, piping and machinery Ideal basecoat for epoxy or polyurethane finishing systems This product is compliant with ISO 12944 for corrosivity categories C3 and C4H, ensuring long-term protection in medium to high-risk environments. It's also tested for high durability in C5-H environments when used within approved systems. Performance & Properties Excellent adhesion and corrosion resistance High hardness and semi-matt finish Effective even at low application temperatures Quick drying: touch dry from 1h15 at 30°C (150 microns) Maximum recoat interval: unlimited Coverage: up to 6.4 m²/l at 125 microns Certifications & Fire Rating Independently tested by Tecnalia Laboratory, DYNAFAST 2/C meets ISO 12944-6 requirements for durability in categories C3, C4 and C5-H. It also fire retardant: Certified B-s1, d0 according to EN 13501-1:2007+A1:2009. Surface Preparation For iron and steel, abrasive blasting to Sa 2½ is recommended per ISO 8501-1, followed by immediate primer application to prevent contamination. For galvanised surfaces, ensure all white rust and contaminants are removed using hot water, detergents or abrasive cleaning. Always test for compatibility prior to full application. Application Guidelines Mix components A and B at a 4:1 ratio by volume. Apply within 30 minutes of mixing for optimal performance. Use the following methods: Airless spray: 0.017"–0.021", 150–200 bar, dilute 5–10% Conventional spray: 0.045"–0.055", 3–4 bar, dilute 5–15% Brush: Touch-ups and small areas only Roller: Not recommended due to poor film thickness and finish Ensure substrate temperature is at least 3°C above dew point. Avoid application in high humidity, direct sunlight, or windy conditions. Limitations & Restrictions Do not use on damp, poorly prepared or uncleaned surfaces Not suitable for non-metal substrates Roller application is not advised due to poor coverage and finish Do not use after pot life (60 minutes) Do not apply in rainy conditions or extreme heat Compatibility & Systems Recommended as a primer/intermediate layer beneath POXEMYC-JUNORETANO 2/C topcoats for long-term system durability. Forms a high-performance basecoat within JUNO epoxy-polyurethane protective systems. Environmental & Safety Notes Solvent-based – use only in well-ventilated areas with appropriate PPE. Avoid ignition sources. Store away from sunlight, extreme temperatures and moisture. Do not eat, drink, or smoke during use. Dispose of responsibly at authorised facilities.
