Professional-Grade Acrylic Sealer for Porous Substrates Hidrocril is a solvent-free, water-based acrylic sealer designed to prepare and stabilise porous or powdery substrates before painting. Formulated for both interior and exterior surfaces, it penetrates deeply, binds loose material, and ensures superior adhesion for topcoats. With a colourless, semi-matt finish, it is perfect for surfaces where clear protection and breathability are required. Where Can It Be Used? This quick-drying sealer can be applied on: Plaster, gypsum, and cement-rendered walls Brickwork, concrete, and blockwork Paper-faced wallboards and other absorbent substrates Interior mineral surfaces as a protective clear varnish It can be used indoors or outdoors, making it versatile for use across domestic, commercial, and industrial settings. However, it should not be applied to surfaces with persistent moisture, rising damp, or previously sealed substrates without compatibility testing. Remove mould, dirt, or efflorescence using appropriate treatments. For patched plaster areas, use Primerlite before sealing. For cleaning mould contamination, our technical team recommends the use of N-Virol Suretherm Goodbye Mould Cleaning Spray. Always read the relevant data sheet before use, or contact us if your are unsure before application. Always mix only the amount needed for immediate use, as diluted product cannot be stored. Application should be by brush, roller or spray. Dilute in a 4:1 ratio (water:Hidrocril) for priming. When used as a varnish, dilution up to 50% water may be suitable depending on the surface porosity. Do not apply if: Substrate temperature is below 5°C or above 35°C Relative humidity exceeds 80% There is risk of rain or strong wind Environmental and Safety Considerations Hidrocril contains a very low level of VOCs (max. 15 g/l) and is not flammable. Clean tools immediately after use with soapy water. Leftover product should be stored upright in a clean, sealed container away from heat, frost, and direct sunlight. Do not eat, drink or smoke during use. Avoid contact with eyes, and keep out of reach of children. Do not dispose of product into drains or the environment – use authorised waste collection points.
