Watco Tack Coat may be applied over existing paint, but all poorly bonded paint must be removed and well bonded paint roughened to provide a key. Metal – Remove any loose or flaking material and rust by wire brushing or disc grinding. Oil or grease should be removed with Watco Bio-D and the metal allowed to dry. Watco Tack Coat should be applied immediately after cleaning and drying. Mixing Mix between 10°C - 25°C. Stir each tin individually and pour the contents of the smaller tin into the larger tin. (Ensure that tin contents are completely emptied by scraping the sides etc.) Mix the components together thoroughly using a spatula or wide bladed tool. Continue mixing until an even blend/consistency is obtained. Do not mix more than one tin at a time. Application Apply sparingly by roller or brush and allow to become tacky. Overlaying must be completed while the Watco Tack Coat is still tacky. It should be sufficiently tacky to overlay after approximately 60 minutes at 15ºC - 20ºC, but this will be extended to 3 hours at 5ºC. Overlaying must be completed before the Watco Tack Coat cures. If it is allowed to harden a fresh pack must be brushed over the surface, if possible, within 24 hours.
