I purchased a Rega turntable from these guys a good few years ago and received excellent service. However, when an old amp, not even purchased from them failed me, they have dealt with Rega on my behalf on two occasions (with probably little financial gain).
I now have my old and well loved amp back in fantastic working order thanks to both Rega and Rayleigh HiFi.

I needed a new HiFi system. Declan (Rayleigh) was brilliant. He tested my old components and explained why some were not salvageable. But he agreed the speakers were OK. I then bought a record deck, streamer, amplifier and CD player. Declan explained everything, he was so professional. I recently moved from London, so delighted to have found Rayleigh HiFi.

I had a major issue with my Linn Sondek LP12 and looked for a local company who could help sort it for me....Thankfully, I came across Rayleigh Hi-Fi Sound & Vision. To say I was very impressed by the levels of customer service, technical knowledge and sheer passion is a huge understatement...Owner Larry and his young but highly competent assistant Declan were both very helpful in diagnosing the issue and offering options of how to rectify the problem.

Following some very interesting discussions on pros and cons of different options and 'bang for my buck' I decided to not only get the original issue fixed but go for some upgrades within my budget. Two weeks later and I now have an even more amazing sounding (and looking) turntable and I am their customer for life, a pleasure doing business with you sirs!

I was so impressed by our recent experience of Rayleigh sound & vision. Rob is extremely knowledgeable and helped us work out the best system for our room at a cost that suited our budget. The team that installed were brilliant, very professional and wanted to make sure we were completely happy with everything, every step of the way. We will definitely use them again.

Visited the Rayleigh branch to buy a streaming device and some speakers. I was meet by Declan, a helpful fella who run through the system I had looked at online. He then set it up a had a listen to an array of music.
Good knowledge of the product and explained everything in plain English.

I decided to replace my home cinema system and decided to contact Rayleigh as I needed some expert advice.
I arranged to visit their shop in Chelmsford for a demonstration of the equipment I was thinking of buying. I was impressed with the system but mainly with the knowledge of Trevor who answered my numerous questions.
I bought the system and an installation date was agreed. Trevor and Lewis arrived as planned and did an excellent job.
I then decided to replace my TV and to get it from Rayleigh. Again, a date for installation was agreed but unfortunately, Sony let us all down by postponing the delivery by a few weeks. I was lent a TV which was great and a new date was agreed. Sony failed again so I carried on borrowing the TV for which I was very grateful.
The TV was finally installed on 30 May and again, the guys did an excellent job.
I believe Rayleigh went above and beyond to keep me happy following Sony's failings and I would highly recommend them. Thanks guys.

Having been a customer for several years I can honestly say the helpful advice,and friendly service given was outstanding from the dedicated staff.
I have purchased many quality products and been very impressed with the overall results.
So for all home cinema, entertainment products I can highly recommend the store.

I was struggling with old floor standing speakers and wary of making the wrong decision when replacing. Rayleigh Hi-Fi were recommended by a friend. They were excellent from start to finish! Took time demonstrating a number of different options in their sound room, not rushed, no bias just a keen interest in getting it right for me. Ray was excellent. I ordered new speakers and they were ready to collect a few days later. All now set up at home and happy.

I have been buying my HiFi equipment from Rayleigh HiFi for over 30 years. When I started working and became interested in listening to quality music reproduction. The staff are very knowledgable and give honest advice to suit you requirement. They stock a good range of products to suit all pockets.

Arrived on time , and installed a new television. Quick and very clean work. Would highly recommend.

Rayleigh Hi-Fi are an excellent organisation dedicated to the enjoyment of music. They stock a very wide variety of equipment to suit all pockets. Their customer service is second to none. Always highly knowledgable, friendly and willing to help and never impatient nor pushy. They are real enthusiasts who take a genuine interest in helping you get the very best sound available. In recent months Ray and Dec in the Rayleigh branch have helped me rebuild my system and are a pleasure to work with.

Spoke to the manager of the Rayleigh Branch regarding some sonos equipment I wished to purchase.
Guy was very helpful in first instance but it turned out the product was £14 dearer than many other retailers....... Ie Currys, John Lewis, Amazon etc.
I asked if they would match the price of the other retailer and the tone completely changed and I was spoken down to.
I fully appreciate they can price their products as they choose but in this day and age i feel price matching is generally quite a standard thing, I don't like being spoken down to by a sales advisor however!
Ultimately I tried Rayleigh HiFi as they were local etc..... Won't ever bother again and would urge others not to bother as well whilst they employ juniors with small store mentality.

This company do not know what the word customer service means!...on top of that, they really couldn't care less that they don't!

I had a £7000 entertainment system supplied and fitted by this company in 2007, by the Colchester branch. Since that date I have added various bits and pieces to the system over the years, (blueray player etc) again supplied and fitted by Rayleigh Hi-Fi.

I have recently incurred a problem with both the wiring and amp and asked them to take a look, at a call out cost of £60. They suggested I have the system rewired and replace the amp at a total cost of £1500....When I suggested that I was going to replace the amp myself, but still pay them £800 to re wire my system ..their whole attitude changed and basically they told me they would never touch the system again!! Talk about short sighted! When I suggested that this was a short sighted approach to a loyal customer since 2007, I might as well have saved my breath....they couldn't be bothered and didn't want to listen......

I now completely understand why the Colchester branch closed!...

I certainly would not recommend them in any way, in fact, I would go as far to say as walk the other way and stay well clear!!
