Cancellation of holiday last minute

We cancelled our cruise on the day of travel as we had an emergency at home. We filled in all paperwork in full including doctors report, travel agents, booking paperwork and cancellation forms which was all submitted on 12th July. We had no further questions and we received an email around 6th August informing us that our claim was going to be paid in full within 7-10 working days. Money was in our account 20th August.
We had a similar claim last year which was cancelled 10 days prior to travel, which was also paid out (minus excess) within 3 weeks of submitting claim.
We are really pleased with the service from this company despite other people's dissatisfaction and our reservations.

Wish i could give this 0 stars

Wish i could give this 0 stars. DO NOT PURCHASE WITH REACTIVE CLAIMS. You will NOT be able to claim under any circumstances, as no one ever responds to you!!!

I was evacuated from my hotel in Iceland in the middle of the night due to a Volcanic Eruption. I have been trying to claim back on the emergency hotel which we were moved to. I have been trying to get a hold of someone at Reactive Claims for months with 0 luck. No one ever responds!!!! What a scam this place is.

Just about the worst service

Just about the worst service, from the most condescending and unhelpful people imaginable. How a company like this was deemed the claims agent of choice by Multitrip Travel Insurance just defies belief. Thank god I wasn’t having to deal with clowns like this over a serious claim. If this is Multitrips’ new partner, I’ll be getting annual travel insurance elsewhere, and I’d recommend others do likewise.

DO NOT USE OR TRUST THIS COMPANY

DO NOT USE OR TRUST THIS COMPANY. I was referred to Reactive Claims by Allclear Travel Insurance when I had to claim for a medical bill incurred on a cruise round the U.K. I filled in the forms and submitted them but was told that they didn’t comply with what’s required in format terms. I phoned and asked for advice and the person couldn’t advise me. I am reasonably computer literate but having scanned the documents several times and into different formats ( PDF, JPEG, DOC etc) I didn’t comply still. I am 78 years old, have just had a stroke and could understand or get help/advice. I called several times over the next 7-8 weeks, submitting documents and receipts from the medical centre on board the ship. I was claiming $5,500:00 which I had paid by credit card on board and I was paid finally on 28th June. So much for the promise by Allclear that ‘most claims are paid in 5 days’. Reactive Claims’ one star reviews on Trustpilot says it all and similar companies have an even higher one star reviews. This is an absolute minefield and Reactive Claims are not helpful in any way to assist you to get the forms accepted. Having read other reviews, PLEASE check reviews of the underwriters before you use companies like Allclear, who, on the face of it, are a good company. How they can use a company like Reactive beggars belief and clearly they can’t care about Reactive Claims’ reviews. They may be typical of all insurance companies who offer all the cover you want but when it comes to a claim they prevaricate, hide behind company procedures and will do anything to delay/avoid paying out. Their answer will be that so many fraudulent claims are made they have to make sure of everything. I had a fellow traveller who we sailed with in the Caribbean who was taken seriously ill, incurring a medical bill for $750,000. The insurance company went back 25 years into his medical history to ‘check’ things and only paid out 66% in the end because he was NOT on London weighting! I DO NOT TRUST insurance companies and suggest that anyone who reads this, checks their reputation thoroughly.

Please make sure to check who deals with claim

Please make sure you know who deals with your insurance claim before getting insurance with any company.
My insurance turned out to be dealt with reactive claim and I can genuinely say - worst customer service.
Months before they decide to reply that they don't cover your particular case under policy.
Lots of information asked and multiple calls to chase what is happening for them to get back and say they don't cover this under insurance.

DO NOT USE REACTIVE CLAIMS. They still owe me $850 after almost TWO YEARS of chasing.

My experience with Reactive Claims has been appalling. I waited months to receive reimbursement for my medical bills, and when I received a follow-up hospital bill for $846 Reactive Claims never reimbursed me for it, even though they specifically state in their instructions that any follow-up bills received should be sent directly to Reactive Claims for reimbursement, even if they are received after submitting your claim. I emailed Reactive Claims about reimbursing me the remaining amount in October 2022, and they said they had paid the hospital directly (without showing me proof), even though I told them I had already paid the hospital. The hospital has now been paid twice (if Reactive Claims is telling the truth), and I still have not been reimbursed the $846 I am owed. I have since chased (in July 2023 and June 2024) and have received no response.

It has been nearly TWO YEARS since I made them aware of this error, and I still have not been reimbursed. If you have a choice DO NOT USE REACTIVE CLAIMS. They are either completely incompetent or they are intentionally scamming people. I would give them zero stars if I could.

Awful company stay well away

Awful company stay well away, i had to cancel my holiday to florida in october 2023 my Dad DIED, my dad wasnt even on the policy as he wasnt even coming, they told me that death certificate wasnt good enough, so i had to pay 50.00 to he's doctor to confirm that it was dementia that he had died of. They have advised they won't pay out on dementia. Such bad communication. My arguement still is he dementia but there was never a predicted time he was going to die he could of lived a further 10 years you cant predict dementia.

Very satisfied customer

I took out a one trip insurance policy with Allclear in March 24-for a river cruise in early April 24. Unfortunately I had to cancel the trip 3 days prior to our departure e due to a dental problem with my wife. I contacted Allclear who directed me to Reactive Claims-I filled in the forms and obtained the appropriate requested documentation. Within 2 weeks I received an e mail advising that my claim had been approved -10 days later I received the money into my account.
Very satisfied customer

Took out annual multi-trip travel…

Took out annual multi-trip travel insurance with AllClear at significant cost, and due to having to curtail our holiday as my husband lost his passport, for which the policy clearly states I am covered, they’re saying I’m not covered. They even sent me an email with the policy extract clearly showing the wording that I am covered in the email declining my claim!! AllClear insurance should be investigated too for palming off to this bunch of con-artists without being clear they’re not the actual insurers. I WILL be going to the Financial Ombudsman and failing any positive outcome, I WILL be taking Reactive Claims to small claims court. Word of warning; these reviews are not from people who are misguided, Over 70% negative reviews; I wish I’d checked before buying. Check your insurance underwriting before you buy it and don’t buy from AllClear.

A Good Experience

We took out travel insurance with Clear View. We had a medical issue on our holiday and found our contact was actually International Healthcare providers. Once we'd returned home and made a claim, we found this was then handled by Reactive Claims! I looked on Trustpilot and read the dreadful reviews, so wasn't terribly hopeful, however I have had a very different experience to others. I posted our claim, rather than doing it electronically. I received notice that they had it within days. The next time I heard from them, within three weeks, the claim had been settled in full and the money has already been paid into the bank. I don't know if those who have had a good experience, just don't bother to review, but I was very happy with the whole insurance experience. I haven't claimed on travel insurance before. It appeared very straight forward.

Despite my low expectations, I was 100% happy with the outcome

Like other customers, I was absolutely horrified to read most of these reviews when I realised my travel insurance company used Reactive Claims for claim handling. So I submitted my claim with zero confidence that it would be fairly processed and accepted.
After several weeks I was asked for further information which I provided. I followed up with a phone call and was pleasantly surprised to easily get through to customer services who reassured me that my claim was under process.
In due course I received an email with a settlement offer - the amount seemed totally random so I politely challenged their assessment by phone and email. In the meantime an initial payment was made which I very much appreciated. I then received a further payment. By this time I felt confident that i would be paid something close to what I expected.
I was then asked for further evidence which I provided and eventually I was offered the full amount I had claimed. The sums made perfect sense and I received a final balancing payment.
The process took three months during which time I emailed and called several times. I also took responsibility for clearly and repeatedly setting out my claim and providing evidence which took time and effort. Despite my low expectations, overall I was satisfied with the service and 100% happy with the outcome.

Why is this company allowed to trade?

Why has this company been allowed to continue in business? I have only just seen the online reviews and would not have taken out any holiday insurance if I had realised they would be involved. They must be breaching all the insurance company guidelines! Which have told me I made a valid claim in December 2023 and as of 12/04/2024 I have still received nothing. Next step has to be the Ombudsman but my comment must be why are they still allowed to continue in business? There must be so many distressed and heartbroken customers out there!

Absolutely appalling insurance company

Absolutely appalling insurance company. We took a comprehensive holiday cover with these people and they have tried their utmost to avoid paying out on our canceled trip. Finally agreeing under one of their many small print clauses that we did have a claim 2 months later they have not paid out. No phone number and they don't respond to emails. Don't use.

very happy and easy process to claim.

very happy with the process and the outcome, Submitted a claim for when I lost all my belongings when my boat capsized and sunk in Thailand.
I was really worried after reading the reviews but the process was simple filled out the initial forms, I've had a couple of emails asking for more details / documentation and I've now been paid out 3 months later in full.
When I've called the office I've got through straight away and the staff were always polite and gave me an update.
Thank you for accepting my claim as this was really traumatic for me and this has really helped me to now buy new clothes and shoes and get back the money I'd lost.
The only reason I think the reviews and ratings are so low is because people are quick to complain but not so quick to applaud someone when doing good.

Reactiveclaims who do not respond to claims

Due to receiving treatment for cancer I took out a policy with reactiveclaims. Will visiting my son and grandson in Ibiza I was hospitalised. I had pneumonia and acute kidney failure. The hospital told me I couldn’t return to UK on our planned flights. My wife and I had to purchase flights returning two days later. I submitted claim including the hospital report and proof of purchase for flights. I am only claiming for the flights. Only automated email responses. As a cancer patient I do not need this stress.

Purchased their Insurance via Jet 2 - AVOID

purchased travel insurance for a ski trip in March 22 and unfortunately had to make a claim. Initially they were helpful and got me back to the UK. Then things started to go wrong, and Jet2 washed their hands of the complaints as they were not the 'insurance company' .
The claims were then dealt with by Reactive claims , who eventually paid for some of the smaller costs. The cost of rescue and ambulance transfer however has not been paid and has ended up with the rescue company threatening the bailiffs to start procedures! Reactive Claims are now passing the buck to Mayday Assistance who according to them 'should have paid' . But I have not had a single response from Mayday, and now Reactive claims have stopped responding. I am now having to go to the small claims court to get back money owed!
How Jet 2 have the audacity to sell a service that isn't fit for purpose is beyond me. Please do not purchase the insurance Jet 2 offer.
