Many people found the user experience to be extremely negative, citing issues with the app and website being outdated, buggy, and slow. Customers frequently mentioned that the product itself, particularly the reading materials, was boring and unengaging, leading to a decrease in their enjoyment of reading. The quality of the content was also a major concern, with many feeling that the questions were often irrelevant or misleading, and the system for tracking progress was flawed. If I could I would give this NEGATIVE stars. Reading Plus is a Bug Filled heckscape. They say it's primary goal is to "increase your reading speed" when in reality it's "decrease your reading speed".... See more

I find reading plus extremely annoying…

I find reading plus extremely annoying and draining due to it being boring unenjoyable and time wasting the books have no more then 3 starts i believe schools use this just to make kids shut up so they do something theirs nothing good about it because every morning i get headaches and migraines due to it just being black and white looks like its made on word to be honest its just a waste of time and money for schools it would be better to use a book less stress less headaches and more this is the thing i find school unmotivating i sometimes be off because of it would rather do maths instead to be honest

Why I don't like reading plus

I have been using this program sinch 7th grade I'm now a sophomore this does not help it makes me want to pull my hair out and cry. it is just repetitive and doesn't help. the reading bar always feels like it is moving to slow or to fast, I read story's at different paces add if I'm having a good day and going fast it says i'm moving to fast and locks me out and if i'm going to slow it does the same. the story's are also all boring and make me not want to read, I got though all the engadinging story's when I was in 7th grade. over all I hate this program and it feels more like a punishment than tool to help me read.

#1 Reading Plus Lover!

I have been using Reading Plus for less than two years, and I already love it. It really helped improved my reading, comprehension, and vocab!! I would definitely recommend this app to anyone and everyone, and I think it is especially good for primary and intermediate schools. I was a good reader before I found this, but now I am in Year 8, and I am reading at the level of a Year 11! Once again, really great app, you should definitely try it!

IT IS SO BORING...

It is good but it says you got to many books less than 80 percent in support mode so it stops me from reading until I am released it should not do that for an app that "helps" reading skills and the books are mostly AI generated atleast my school and class make it a competition to make it fun also why do powers exist because yeah they are helpful but still 10 percent extra makes it look like a cheat sheet in a test and we need 100 percent or going up a level to get a team point in our class so 90 percent and owning a power can make 100 percent making you look better at reading than you are.

would learn more watching cocomelon

As a student using this FOOLISH, PREPOSTEROUS, ABSURD, IDIOTIC, DUMB WEBSITE i find that it is not only the most 3000BC looking (and functioning website) it is also THE BANE OF MY EXISTANCE!!! The amount of emotional turmoil i go though whenever i do this STUPID homework is crazy. I have a whole notebook of reading plus fuelled RAGE where i scribble down FURIOUSLY unfamily friendly ways of saying "I HATE THIS" in sharp lettering while simultaneously pulling my hair like a madwoman. And im not done here! I havent seen anyone write about this but its a massive issue of mine that i HATE SO MUCH. Its this stupid "OooOOhOhoh UR goinINg ToO fAsT" ILL GO AS FAST AS I LIKE THANK YOU VERY MUCH! And if you go too fast too many times you get locked out, fortunately though, i havent had to have the awkward chat with my teacher explaining that ive been locked out and that i need her to unlock me. Ive managed to do this by reading it, sitting and waiting for the grey thing to reach about three lines up from the bottom... still waiting....should i read it again... wait... yeah im gonna read it again, reads it agin.... wait.... wait... FINALLY! NOW I ONLY HAVE TO DO THIS FOR 4 MORE TIMES WITH THE MOST BORING TEXTS IMAGINEABLE!!!!! and the blue guided weird useless guided thingy is soooooooooooo stupid. There must have been something where they sat down at reading plus HQ (which is probably just a cave) some random geezer went "ooga booga ououou ohohohooh ooga ogoga buugaaaa" which roughly translates to: ("you know what i dont think this website is annoying enough. Why dont we make it so people cant read at their own pace, then market it as 'education') it is so stupid. and whole website being built by cave men was at first going to be an exaggeration but it kinda makes sense now that i think about it im fully convinced it actually was! The texts read like they are written by 2 year olds and they have definitions for every word (WU-rd, a speech sound or series of speech sounds that symbolizes and communicates a meaning), and the whole vocabulary homework DOES NOT MAKE SENSE i see a word, fully know what it means, cannot go a day without using it BUUUUUUUUUUUUUT MR. OOGA BOOGA (the guy who created this abomination of homework) thinks "huh, what if we just... you know... make up the definitions. You know what i mean MR. OOOOOAAAAHHH, just... make them up, like they dont have to be accurate and if the person gets the word wrong (even though were the ones who are thick as helly)? Yeah just say that they dont know the word, what you think it affects me in any way if they guess wrong?" AND IT FLASHES SO FAST like say the word 'discussion' comes up, everyone knows what discussion means but it flashes up and you read it as disgusting, now youre so confused because the definitions dont make sense so you flash it again and now you see it says discussion (and also that you have one less point now which ill get onto later) but still none of the answers match up cus mr ooga booga thought itll be funny. So you press it again, double check that its discussion, yeah thats right. but what isnt right ARE THOSE DEFINITIONS.
QUICK QUIZ-WHATS THE DEFINITION OF SUBMIT
A) become longer
B)top of a mountain
C)announce
D)consider
E) mention as possibility
I'm doing my vocab homework now and thats the question the answer was D which (and im not even exaggerating here) i could describe it better when i was 7. and then youve lost another point, the points make you pass the lesson quicker so that makes my homework longer than it needs to be just because i cant see what the silly little word is. THINK THIS IS ENOUGH TO RAGE ABOUT? THINK AGAIN! The 'encouragement' they put on the dashboard is about as encouraging as a slap in the face. If someone tries to encourage me with 'woohoo' or 'your on a roll' then id probably feel less encouraged and more like a 5 year old at sports day with a very annoying parent who every two seconds turns to the person next to them and says 'thats my girl'. it angers me. Have i even gone over how boring the texts are? its just some random text about football yapping about the world cup and the definition of penalty. I could write better stories in year 5. Infact, i HAVE wrote better stories! IN YEAR 4!!!!!! i think i might be going crazy, i am going crazy. (krey-zee, a person not mentally sound) ALL BECAUSE OF THIS STUPID HOMEWORK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i probably would learn more watching skibidi toilet then doing this homework! AND THATS A FACT!!!!! and you know what that isnt even everything im just too lazy to write it and i only have a couple of characters left to write and i wouldnt be able to stress how much i hate this and all the rest of the flaws that mr ooga booga decided would be great in that short amount of words. But let me tell you this, if you are a teacher or parent DO NOT USE THIS! makes the kid(s) mentally-ill

From a students point of view, really bad.

I use this website as homework at school and to be honest its really bad. The teachers say it 'improves your reading' but all it does is make you read longer texts and increase your reading speed. Some people in my class would disagree with me, but in my case im quite and advanced reader so the texts for me are always too short or too straightforward. The stories on there are mostly informational and no real stories. Plus you have to get to a high level to find stories that are actually interesting. It also makes me want to read less physical books because im so mentally tired from reading them i cant be bothered to read actual books. In all of the levels there are limited stories (because of course there cant be infinite stories for reading plus to have) but there is a very small variety to choose from. Overall could be improved a lot in many ways.

Reading Plus? More like Reading Minus.

I'm a Year 7 student who gets assigned Reading Plus homework every week and it is insufferable. The G-rate is either a snail or a fighter jet and you need to match it EXACTLY while reading independently or you need to re-read the page. The comprehension questions are more about memory than understanding the text and you must be near PERFECT to keep advancing and for your assignments to count. The design is extremely outdated and if you (God forbid) don't have a photographic memory you get a patronising "Uh-oh. Your score was XX% on your last reading lesson," etc. Also, when on the last "combo" of a level, you don't get to use any assistance, just your memory. Also, the percentage calculation is RIDICULOUS because a correct question is worth 10% (or 20%, more on that later) while a "partial credit" is, you guessed it, 4%. LEARN MATHEMATICS! Also, if you manage to survive for 5 levels, you only get asked 5 questions and once again, a "partial credit" is WRONG: 8% while a correct question is 20%. Any teachers reading this: do NOT use this archaic, frustrating and patronising website.
