I wish I'd read other reviews before ordering

I wish I'd read other reviews before ordering. Item was ordered, paid for and confirmed ie a contract of sale and, as the item was in stock, they were thus obliged to fulfil the contract. Two hours later they cancelled the order. No reason give. No response to emails or Facebook message. Checked the site again, and, surprise, the item was still in stock but at a 25% higher price. I was reimbursed, but this is really not the way to do business.

I emailed them 9 days ago to check that…

I emailed them 9 days ago to check that an item they claimed was in stock on their website was actually in stock and ready to despatch if I paid for it. No response whatsoever....and guess what? I don't buy from companies that don't answer emails...duh
And on reading the other reviews here it look's like I had a narrow escape.
Quite how this appalling company can have 2.6 Trustpilot stars when they have 4 one star reviews is beyond my understanding???

Zero Customer Service

As a first time customer of Red Apple Audio I would like to give my experience of this company.

Over Easter I placed an order with this company for an item which they showed on their website as being ‘in stock’ and received a computer generated receipt for my purchase, which also stated that they would contact me when the item was dispatched.

Given the current situation I expected that after the Easter Holiday was over I would have been given an update on my order but no update was received.

I then sent two emails asking for an update and both emails were ignored.

I had as a precaution taken a screenshot of the webpage showing that they stated this item was in stock.

I went back to the website and found it had been taken down with the excuse that there was a technical issue.

After a search I found that access to their store could be found on Facebook and saw a message advising customers to contact them this way.

However, I was not informed via email that they were on Facebook and that this was now their preferred way of contact and also it wasn’t actually of any help to myself anyway as I was not signed up with Facebook.

So I monitored that Facebook page and saw that it daily displayed that they were open and trading during their usual business hours and then also displayed being closed outside of business hours on a daily basis.

I then read the previous reviews on Facebook and found that others also had similar experiences of non existent customer service, apparently even when customers did manage to speak to them via the telephone their experience was a polite response which was not followed up with any actual action on their part.

In one of my emails I had suggested they could refund the payment back into my Paypal account if they could not supply the order or I would use the Paypal resolution process to request a refund.

Again there was no answer to my request so I went ahead and started a claim with Paypal.

I then emailed all my evidence and concerns about this company to the local Trading Standards office in Belfast which covers the area that this business operates in.

That Paypal claim has now been settled and Paypal have refunded my payment, however Paypal stated that once again this seller had not responded to them either.

As a warning to the reader one email address I used was listed on their Paypal account as another point of contact but when I used it that address it was bounced back by the server as being non existent. So, aside from their virtual non existent customer service, I can also confirm that their Paypal account shows you out of date contact information.

So after reading my review of my experience be warned if you purchase from this seller you may well end up being treated in the same way and I would urge any potential customers in the U.K. and in particular Northern Ireland to heed my warning.

I’m not familiar with laws in Northern Ireland but here in the U.K. I do know that after paying for goods not received and then also not being given a refund is considered to be ‘fraud’.

As for Red Apple Audio, any attempt to address this issue now would be considered by myself to be ‘too little, too late.’

Really bad trader with no idea of customer service

My experience with Red Apple Audio is as follows:
On 1st April I ordered a Behringer U-Phoria UMC202HD audio interface for £59. All indications were that it was in stock. I got an emailed confirmation the same day. On 8th April I emailed to ask if they could let me know when it would be dispatched as I had heard nothing. I got no reply. On 13th I emailed again asking if they could reply to my first email. Nothing! Today (14th) I phoned and spoke to Gary Kennedy who it seems is the "business" owner. He asked for my number and said he would ring me back in 5 to 10 minutes. He didn't. Instead I got an email from Paypal saying my £59 had been refunded.
Of course I have no idea why he refunded or why it was beyond his ability to simply phone and discuss the matter, but it is interesting to note that the price went up by £10 shortly after I placed my order. Was it because my order was at the old price or was it because he didn't actually have any in stock. I don't know because he couldn't be bothered to ring and explain.
Many businesses will fail as a result of the current situation and, sadly, that will be mainly businesses with shop fronts and employees to pay. Cowboys like this won't just survive they will benefit from the need to shop online and the opportunity that it presents to jack up prices,
Hopefully online shoppers will check before they buy and people like Mr Kennedy will deservedly be a trader that most avoid!

Absolute Worst Seller on the Net

Bought a pedal from Red Apple Audio on Reverb on Thursday 14/02.

Pedal was listed as in stock.

Contacted to ask when to expect delivery. Told that pedal wasn’t actually in stock, but they would receive it on Tuesday 19/02 and it would “be in my hands” the following day.

On Monday a tracking number was added to my order 🤔
Contacted again. Was told that this was an automated ‘dummy’ tracking number, and the real tracking number would be added as soon as it was dispatched on Tuesday.
No updated tracking on Tuesday.

Pedal didn’t arrive on Wednesday, tracking still not updated.
Contacted again. Was told that the pedal was dispatched on Tuesday, but they ignored my request for the correct tracking information.

No pedal on Thursday or Friday.
Contacted again. Told that there may be a problem with the items they dispatched on Tuesday (really!). Also tried to convince me that the unrecognised tracking number that they previously stated was an automated dummy code is the real and correct tracking number. Told me that they would resolve the issue on Monday because they don’t work on the weekend. Promised to send a new one via special delivery if it hadn’t arrived on Monday.

Now it’s Monday 25/02, 11 days since I ordered a pedal that was listed as in stock. Still no pedal, still no tracking update, still no effort to resolve the issue, and no replacement sent as promised.

Instead of resolving my issue, they cancelled the order without my consent. Reason - they lied about having stock to send a replacement. The absolute worst seller I have ever dealt with.
