Worst hotel experience in the UK
We stayed at the property during the renovation which we weren't informed in advance. Overall it was the most expensive and the worst experience in our week vacation on the north of England. Try to avoid this property and find alternatives. The management will find a way to rip you off.
- We have to wait for an hour to check in because of multiple issues at the property. It was a nightmare with an infant on our hands.
- We didn't get the room we paid for. We booked a cottage with proper kitchen, living room required for quality time with our infant and the view. But when we arrived only rooms were available. They did the downgrade without any compensation! Their excuse was that they have a renovation. But they forgot to mention that they changed us high price for this inconvenience.
- No parking at the property was available for SUV. They asked us everyone to park in the field few hundred meters away.
- The lock on the room was broken and we can't lock it when we go somewhere
- The property had renovation with a lot of workers and construction vehicles but still charged full price
- Poor communication. We left an email to discuss the situation but nobody contacted us for weeks. They tried to notify us about the situation by phone instead of using an email or booking messaging. It's very bad choice considering UK poor coverage at rural area.
