Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Considering 233 reviews, reviewers had a great experience with this company. Customers frequently praise the incredibly helpful and supportive staff members who expertly guide them through CV writing, training courses, and interview preparation. Many people feel genuinely cared for by their dedicated advisors, noting that this personalized guidance significantly boosts their confidence during job searches. However, some customers also noted that the overall process occasionally felt like an impersonal box-ticking exercise with a noticeable lack of tailored assistance. A few other people also felt that certain scheduling requirements and mandatory appointments were completely inflexible or largely unhelpful for their personal situations.

Helpful, Kind, and Supportive

I was enrolled on the Reed Restart Scheme December 2025 - May 2026, and regularly had appointments at the Harlow branch.

My Employment Adviser was Finley, who treated me with kindness and respect throughout my time with Reed. When I joined the scheme I was feeling very down due to struggles finding employment, my own mental health struggles, and having to deal with the Job Centre.

The support and advice I was given was tailored to my situation. I was pushed and challenged to do my best, alongside acknowledging and celebrating the effort that I was putting in.

After accepting an offer of employment, the pre-employment checks took a baffling amount of time. This was a mentally challenging period, and Reed were incredibly understanding and supportive. Finley was pivotal in getting me back on track both mentally, and to encourage me to be persistent with chasing this up.

After starting my new job, I was offered what Reed call full service. This enables me to still receive support, despite securing employment. I did not have to hesitate at all, and immediately accepted this service.

I can't speak highly enough of those I interacted with at the Harlow branch, and would definitely recommend their services. Below are a few other staff that I interacted with at Reed Harlow.

George was always polite and kind when signing people in for their appointments, and took the effort to remember people's names and faces. Refreshments and seats were always available whilst waiting for my appointment to start.

Lisa ran the training schemes that Reed offered in Branch. She always came across as very passionate for what she did, and that made the training sessions very engaging. I only did a few of these, but there was a good variety on offer to assist job seekers.

Chloe the hiring manager would liaise with local businesses, and actively try to provide employment opportunities to those in her talent pool. This would involve regular communication of vacancies, and even taking CVs directly to the potential employers.

Chloe also arranged a career's fair where local businesses could directly engage with job seekers, and provide support sessions in the office to help with applications and/or job searching.

All of the services and staff that I previously mentioned, really enforced a feeling that you weren't alone in trying to rectify your situation.

Positive experience = new job ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Restart Scheme has been an extremely positive experience for me. Before restart scheme I was with the job centre for a year and have been struggling to get a job. I’ve been with restart scheme for a month and have been provided courses to help me with my job searching, mock interviews and support from all staff members. I have finally got myself a job after a month with restart scheme. I highly recommend Restart Scheme ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Work with them and they will work with you

Was referred to Reed in partnership (Chelmsford branch) by DWP, amazing experience. If you’re truly willing to get a job and take whatever opportunities they give you, you WILL get a job. Started with a rubbish CV, no experience, no references and a long gap of unemployment. Came in initially whilst going through a recruitment process which they supported me through which fell through in the end due to medical reasons. After that, within 2 weeks of attending everything I could get they got me an interview, which they then supported me through and I got the job, one I enjoy and is tailored to what I was looking for. Couldn’t recommend them more. If you want a job, and you put your end of the effort in you will get one. Staff are great, free to use drinks station too. As I said, couldn’t recommend them more. My employment advisor James, was a pleasure to work with and he especially deserves extra credit.

Reed in Partnership, Harrogate — A Pattern of Systemic Failure

I am updating this review in light of new information which i have obtained through a Data Subject Access Request (DSAR), which revealed the full extent of misconduct during my participation in the restart programme.

The DSAR Diversion — A Potential GDPR Breach

I submitted a DSAR requesting my personal data be sent directly to me. Instead, my entire data file was redirected to a third party government department without my consent. I only obtained my own data by making a separate request to that third party. This obstruction of my legal right of access raises serious questions about data handling practices.

What the DSAR Revealed

The records show a pattern of inaccurate, prejudicial, and professionally incompetent documentation:

- My neurological condition (epilepsy) was misclassified in internal records to mental health when i hold accredited training within the field of mental health well-being.

- "Failed To Attend" entries were created for online courses despite documented knowledge that for a time I had no internet access and was already deeply invested within online learning paid prior to arriving back to reside in the uk in 2024.

The online /remote courses that reed in partnership provide are an insult to intellectual individuals.

My professional qualifications — which are extensive, accredited, and internationally recognised — were dismissed as "unrealistic" " zero qualifications" and "not SMART" by a business manager who appeared to apply narrow, inappropriate criteria irrelevant to my actual field

- Internal communications shared my health data with benefit decision-makers without clear lawful basis

- My case profile remains ", active" days after programme closure should have occurred

- Multiple duplicate pages within the dsar suggest poor data management throughout.

The Assault and the Internal Response

Four days after I was assaulted in my own home (medically documented, police involvement), an internal email was circulated about me suggesting my account was "untrue and highly exaggerated." I formally challenged this in writing. There was no apology, no retraction, and supposedly i will have their cover up zero fault finding on the 11th of may 2026.

Suppression of Criticism

When I posted my original honest review, the organisation attempted to have it flagged as illegal. Trustpilot investigated and confirmed my review broke no terms whatsoever. This attempt to silence legitimate criticism rather than address it speaks to organisational culture.

The Human Cost

I was given a basic button phone for all of three minutes to connect with reed in partnership whilst in the dwp office;
with no sustainable connectivity, then went without food to afford a replacement so I could maintain contact. My self-employment goals — which were my stated purpose which was to return the UK in a self employed role on departure from women's refuges; — were abandoned without meaningful consultation, despite my own calculations (and theirs) supposedly stating benefits to be more beneficial, aka showing self-employment as being my most viable route.

I am now pursuing formal regulatory and legal action regarding data protection breaches, discriminatory treatment, and defamation. I would give zero stars if the platform allowed. This organisation should be investigated thoroughly, not contracted by government to serve vulnerable people.

Degrading disgusting behaviour from Southend Restart scheme

Terrible service and inappropriate behaviour from staff. Laughing and joking and saying crude words and sentences whilst children about and lots of us waiting to be seen. Management don’t care and advisors are just ticking boxes.
Male manager talking vile about someone attending about their race and way they look. Bully he seems.
The same male manager who’s been banned from pubs locally due to substance taking.
Derogatory behaviour from staff and experienced them inside molo lounge drinking alcohol on Friday 17th April during working hours using foul language and swearing and talking about people they see in a negative disgusting way. Awful representation of the company and brand and knowing their could be people they help who are vulnerable around them they didn’t care at all.
Disgusting behaviour and drinking alcohol and bad mouthing people and no one stopped them. If the management were present they should be ashamed of their staff for their behaviour including their own.
They may want to restart their own behaviour before trying to supposedly help others in Southend.
Southend restart scheme full of advisors who like to belittle people, abuse people, call people derogatory names, drink during working hours and in the public eye and only care about their pints of beer and shots and mixers than anyone else. Disgusting behaviour I hope Mr Reed sorts this behaviour out as I hope I wasn’t one of those people they were degrading and insulting whilst intoxicated in the public eye wearing their name badges and or branded clothing of Reed
Awful and disgraceful

Got borderline harassed by the amount…

Got borderline harassed by the amount of emails sent in 1 day, got sent jobs to apply for that wasnt suitable for me, waited almost a year to be set up on a online course that was supposed to give me a qualification but turned out to be a hour long course that doesn't achieve anything. Got told to apply for jobs that I pointed out are old ones that hadn't been taken down and also nowhere near enough hours. When I said I was struggling with my caring responsibilities, job searching, going to job centre and seeing restart and really needed a job that was going to replace restart and job centre and not a job for 4 hours a week on top of everything else, I got emotional and the response from the restart woman was, well if you closed your claim you wouldn't have to deal with it. Not helpful at all!. I gave notice of not been able to attend an appointment due to training at work i received email confirmation that it was OK then 7:30pm the next day received an email to say I had missed that appointment and not been in touch to say why, then at 9:05pm same evening received an email off the restart woman asking what job I was doing, how was training, how many hours is it, can you send me details. I think 9:05 at night is a bit inappropriate. Then I received a email at 11:27am saying a phone appointment had been set for me at 11:30 that day which also wasn't even a day I have appointments on. Apart from receiving various CV's for me to use ( which was done by the first restart lady who was very helpful and understanding) I have not found then any use at all and to be honest just created me more stress and affected my mental health in a very negative way. The highlight for me when I got a job ( which I found, applied for and got myself and had nothing to do with restart at all, didn't even use the cv they made me) was not having to deal with restart or the woman I saw any more. Although she was still harassing me for details about the job I didn't have yet and as soon as she had my employers name and email details, emailed my boss without me knowing or asking me if that was OK which I found disrespectful and dont see why she needed to when I had updated UC every step of the way. I asked if I could get help with some work clothes I.e shoes and trousers and asked if it could be amazon as we dont have any local shoe shops here and amazon would be the quickest. Her reply was that that was fine and could get a voucher to use at amazon as soon as I send her my employers details which I sent her what I had. I received the voucher which could not be used at amazon like I had bern told before hand, so I was lied to just to add that on top of the rest of the horrendous experience.
