After the one dollar charge for a week…

After the one dollar charge for a week of access to rent before owning.com I was aware of the $12 monthly fee yet it was actually a $12 a week fee which is absolutely unacceptable. They did not make that clear anywhere and I would never pay $12 a week for anything after I tried to cancel my account. I could not get a password reset they said that they sent me an email confirmation yet I never got one. I called and talked to someone. She said she would cancel it and send me confirmation yet. I got no confirmation when I asked for a refund for all or part of my months Of non-use. She said she would email me a $50 gift card yet I get no email so no cancellation confirmation and no $50 gift card to my email. I don’t even want the gift card. I just want at least half of my money back because it was misleading and fraudulent. I will take this up with my bank because they were the ones that alerted me to this concerning weekly subscription!!!!!!

Scam

In my experience, rentbeforeowning.com
operates in a very concerning manner. The website does not allow you to cancel your subscription online, and charges are made weekly. The only way to cancel is by phone, and during the call, they attempt to keep the subscription active by offering to lower the rate instead of processing the cancellation immediately.

When requesting a refund, they require you to complete a form and send it by mail or fax — not by email — for “review and consideration.” This process is unusually complicated and makes it very difficult for customers to cancel or receive a refund.

Based on my experience, I find these practices highly questionable and misleading.

I was looking to try to buy a home I thought this was some Jimmy site you pay a couple of dollars to get some listings of rent to owns okay did that and then I start seeing little charges a dollar here $2 here one every other day of this week $2 for days from that a dollar two days later hell I done racked up over 64$ before I even realized that they're charging me every few days a buck or two so it could almost go unnoticed if I hadn't been looking for specific purchase i

I am writing to alert you to concerns I…

I am writing to alert you to concerns I have regarding the website rentbeforeowning.com. Based on my experience, I believe the site may be involved in deceptive practices.

Firstly, none of the properties listed on their platform appear to be genuine Rent-to-Own listings. Additionally, the Point of Contact (POC) information provided under each property is inaccurate. It appears that the website scrapes realtor details from other sources and presents them as contacts for these properties. When I contacted one of these POCs, I discovered that the individual is a licensed realtor unaffiliated with any of the properties on rentbeforeowning.com. He advised me to be cautious about sharing personal information, as he indicated that others have also inquired about rent-to-own homes through this platform.

I attempted to cancel my membership with rentbeforeowning.com, as I was concerned about the legitimacy of their offers, which appear to be fabricated. They offered various deals, including a $50 reward card, which did not materialize. During my cancellation call, they asked for my preferred rental area, then provided me with another POC to contact—often a realtor in the same area, likely identified through online searches.

I followed up with this new POC, who was confused about how I obtained her contact information. She kindly took my details and assured me she would investigate. Subsequently, she informed me that after visiting the listed properties, she confirmed that the homeowners had never listed their homes as rent-to-own properties, and some homes were occupied.

Given these findings, I strongly believe this website is engaging in fraudulent activity. I urge law enforcement authorities to investigate this matter further and consider blocking the site to prevent others from falling victim.

Thank you for your attention to this serious issue.

Scam

This company appears very dishonest. I canceled immediately before exiting the website because the listings were not RTO and they continued charging me for 2 months. Customer service says that charges need to be disputed with your bank and obviously they still charge. I am going to contact the Federal Trade Commission. As Americans we can not allow these schemes to continue to cost us our hard earned money.

Scam!

If I could, I would give this "company" 0 stars, I would. Big Scammers. I was just browsing "rent to own properties" in my area and i'm sure I thought I was signing up with for email subscriptions. I DO NOT recall ever entering my credit card info. I looked to see if I actually had a membership and my adress was dead ass listed as "123" like that is not my address!! Luckily I didn't have anything on that card anymore when they tried to bill me $50. I called to cancel and they play the sales game hard. SOOO frustrating.

As all of the other reviews they are definitely Scammers. I have not been able to locate any rent before you buy locations in the St. Louis Metro area. The search responds with 0 listings found.

This is a scam

This is a scam , I didn't authorize any of this, my 3 year old granddaughter hit the button and I'm charged $49.95 for something i don't want and they authorize $25.00 refund and $25.00 in coupons as a refund., or the option of printing out a letter and faxing it back and then waiting 20 days to see if they choose to refund your money. I intend on using my social media to make everyone aware of this scam.

SCAM!!!!

I never review anything online but I’m so upset with this company, I want to warn everyone. I signed up for $2 to view land for sale near me. Apparently you get charged $50 a month from then on. READ the mile long terms and conditions. Times are hard enough as it is, and this place is just taking your money. When I called to ask for a refund when I realized I was being charged, they kept making offers to take the monthly subscription down lower(the customer service offered $9 a month). They also do not have a refund policy and you have to fax forms to their legal team to even be considered for a refund. So thank you RENT BEFORE OWNING for taking my money that could of went to taking care of my family. DO NOT SIGN UP. THIS PLACE IS A SCAM!!!!
