Great Service

We’ve had solar for about a year and the project performance was a little under what we were expecting. Resinc took ownership and compensated us for the difference. Their service and support has been consistent throughout our experience.

After having Solar installed by Resinc we trusted them to install a battery

I’ve had a battery installed, and it was a frustrating and disappointing experience.

At the start, everything sounded great. We were given a clear plan: the battery would be wall mounted where we wanted it, allowing us to landscape underneath, and an existing inverter would be removed and replaced neatly in the same location. It all made sense.

Then things started to change.

I received a call saying the battery placement needed to be reassessed. Fair enough—but after another inspection, I was told it couldn’t be wall mounted (the reason for this is sound) and would have to go in the garage. That’s something I specifically didn’t want due to space constraints. By that point, I was already past the cooling-off period, so I had little choice but to proceed. I spent hours clearing space in the garage to make it work.

On installation day, the plan changed again. The installers decided the battery could go outside after all—just not wall mounted, but on a slab. A small win, but frustrating given the time I’d already spent preparing the garage.

Then came another change: the inverter couldn’t go where originally planned and would instead be mounted higher on the wall, misaligned with the existing one. I was told a shade might now be needed due to sun exposure—something previously said to be unnecessary. That recommendation was vague and ultimately went nowhere.

Then the plan changed again. The original inverters would stay, and a new inverter would be installed between them and the battery. This raised concerns about efficiency, as I had previously been told one inverter needed to be removed to avoid unnecessary DC–AC–DC conversion losses. After checking, I was told to expect around a 5% efficiency loss unless I was willing to accept visible damage to my brickwork. At this point, the system was clearly no longer what had been originally promised.

Despite all this, we pushed on.

At the end of the day, after a longer-than-expected power outage, power was restored—briefly. A “pop” followed, and we lost power again. The issue couldn’t be resolved on the spot, although to their credit, power was eventually restored.

We agreed the team would return the next day to fix the problem. I then received a call the next day, the electrician had been double booked, and the job is now pushed out for a week. They had disconnected our solar at this point so we had no solar for a week.

At every stage, the plan has changed. What started as a neat, efficient solution has turned into a compromised installation with reduced efficiency and ongoing delays.

I chose to pay a premium with Resinc expecting a premium service. Instead, I’ve experienced shifting advice, poor planning, and inconsistent communication.

Resinc originally installed my solar system, and I was encouraged to delay adding a battery because it would be “easy” to add later. That hasn’t been my experience. Instead, I’ve been left choosing between aesthetics and efficiency—neither of which was part of the original proposal.

Overall, this has been far from the smooth, professional process I expected.

The battery is working and is saving money which is a positive.
