This company is a joke

This company is a joke. I placed an order online and heard nothing for weeks. I reached out to him at least a half dozen times with no response go through my Shop app, Facebook, an email. I eventually emailed them and messaged them to cancel my order. I requested a confirmation. This is weeks ago and I’ve never heard from them regarding the same. STAY AWAY AT ALL COST.

Kickstarter user here

Kickstarter user here. I ordered some lights from this company when they were getting started. Now, 6 years later, they have taken our money and started selling the products we funded on their website. These guys are scammers.

Outright thieves

Outright thieves. Stole over 800 peoples money on Kickstarter. I was able to get ahold of them but once they found out I was a Kickstarter backer they stopped communication like the charlatans they are.

I pre-purchased 2 of the "ultimate adventure" package

I have been trying to get into contact with anyone regarding my purchase. This was supposed to be a birthday gift. It seems the average response time is 6 months or longer for email. The last response was an apology for the delay (well over a year now since initial payment) and that everything is delayed. I recently tried to load there website and got nothing more than errors like:
This page isn’t working revelgear didn’t send any data.

Discussion with Brian Plavnicky

Discussion with Brian Plavnicky

I recently placed an order for the Revel Light. After not hearing anything for a couple months, I got curious and did a little bit more research on the company. In doing so, I stumbled upon numerous people with similar issues. As a result, I opened a case with PayPal for a refund. I was quickly provided with a refund by Revel, but was also contacted by Brian Plavnicky (Founder of Revel) to discuss the reason for my request. He acknowledged the product's slow roll-out and stated they expect to have a product in the next couple months. I'm all for giving people the benefit of the doubt and will be awaiting the product roll out. In the end, it's a great idea if it can be properly engineered and fabricated. For now, I'm cautiously optimistic that Brian and his team will come through.

No product was ever delivered to their backers

No product was ever delivered to their backers after a successful Kickstarter campaign funded for $108,439 / launched project on 30 Aug 2016. Revel Gear spent 4 years making infrequent updates on Kickstarter with the last in length update on 16 Sep 2019 and then one liners in 2020... It was a spool of lights and a charger, not a rocket to Mars and oh a competitor (MPOWERD) figured it out for 1/4 of the cost Revel Gear had estimated.... Not a company I'd ever back, invest in, or support...

Totally ripped of their Kickstarter…

Totally ripped of their Kickstarter investors, used people’s money to fund their lifestyle for a couple of years - holidays, new offices, a wedding and I’m sure the list goes on.
Four years ago their campaign made it look like they had a good to go product, for 3 years it was excuse after excuse why it wasn’t ready, for the last year there has been nothing at all.

I have no success with them directly

I have no success with them directly, but with their lesser known gear 'trail hound' of both ordinary light and multi color light. I got them both from "Outdoor Element" which have twice sold and twice stopped selling Revel Gear, probably due to the catastrophic reputation they've earned either by dishonesty or unfortunate circumstances.

Point is; I'm very pleased with the two copper wires with glued diodes brimming with illuminating life resembling the pulsing light of a fireplace with several light behavior options. They are a fine addition to a campfire atmosphere and can only say good things about the gear considering their fair price too around 30 dollars.

I am very confused that i cannot find these devices of theirs on their official website, that is very strange.

Took the money and ran

In 2016, I believed in the viability of their kickstarter project, so I pledged for 2 spools of lights and a solar battery pack. It is now November 2020, my wallet is lighter, I have no lights, no battery and no credible project updates or adjusted timelines from Revel Gear (at this point, 4 years later, would you believe any updated timeline?). Do yourself a favor and don't buy anything from this company, because they do actually sell gear through their website. Just realize this is being done off the backs of stiffed kickstarter backers who were left holding the bag years ago. Where's the integrity Revel Gear? Update your backers, own up to your failure....you owe us that much at the very least. Looking forward to your next vague update in another 6 months or so.

It's a total scam

It's a total scam. After four years they were not able to deliver any of the items promised and kept on stalling backers and they still accept pre-orders online. They should be punish by law and the webpage closed.
Don't lose your money and fall for it, watch out!!

Joke of a company run by scam artists

In March 2017 I, along with over 800 other people, backed this company on Kickstarter to the amount of $108K. Here we are over 3.5 years later with no products delivered and a string of lies and broken promises from the owners.

Order from Revel Gear at your own peril. There are plenty of other companies out there which offer similar products at better prices and they will actually deliver.

You'll have more success buying direct from China!

Click on their website link and the first thing you'll see is a fancy spool of fairy lights, decorating a camp, then conveniently being wound up manually so all is tidy and safe. Fairy lights are pretty cheap and available everywhere, and a hand held winding mechanism is no big engineering feat, so marrying the two should be no big deal. So you'd think. It's now 4 years since i parted with my hard earned cash to back this on kickstarter, just like the other reviews on here. No updates for the past 2 years and this company is still operating, and taking pre-orders for my fairy lights. All i wanted was to pimp up my camp! DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR MONEY! Notice no positive reviews on here...

Also, looking at trustpilots score system. 5 reviews all give 1 star, surely that gives a total average review score of 1 star. How come the overall score is higher (2.6 before i submit this)? RevelGear probably used my money to bribe trustpilot to get a higher score, because they certainly haven't used it to develop a spool of fairy lights!

Buyer beware

Buyer beware! They have lacked any level of acceptable communication and the product has yet to be shipped over 2 years later (yes you read that correctly 2 years).

Criminals

They literally stole money from me on Kickstarter. I am not sure how this company can get away without delivering their product and taking our money. Please do not buy anything from this company.
