Don't waste your time

Tried to scrap my old car. Was accepted at a price of £50. This was good enough for me just to have it removed.

I had no contact from them and had to chase them up every few weeks.

8 months later, still nothing. Car still sitting outside. They're 'still trying to find an agent in my area'.

Don't waste your time and go with a different company.

Someone needs to recycle Rewardingrecycling....

Got a price from Rewardingrecycling of £500 for my old hybrid car. Then, waited and waited, then called, "it's with the manager who's in a meeting", twice that happened. Then eventually after emailing them got a reply "The dealer has rejected the offer". They offered me! I didn't make an offer to them! They then tried to offer £300 which I accepted if they acted quickly, but nothing happened. What a rubbish service

Don't bother wasting your time.

Cancelled after waiting weeks

Booked in with online form. Waited weeks and called them, they said they'd call back. Waited a few days and called them again, and they said I needed to call the company they passed in onto in Cardiff. On calling the other Company, they advise me Rewardingrecycling has cancelled!
Likely to get charged now as car is still on property where my tenancy will soon expire.
Completely unreliable. Wouldn't use again, Wouldn't recommend.

No Call and No Show

I booked my car to be scarped with reward recycling and they found a dealer in my area. After a week someone contacted me and we arrange a date and time for my car to be picked up. On the day no one turned up and no communication from the scrap team.

Called again and arranged another pick up but this time I was told they cant give me a day just anytime after 6pm. Another week passed still no pick up or phone call from them. I re-chased and still same response someone will come in the evening, cant say which date.

After numerous phone calls chasing and many more times no one turned up, after 2 months and a day from the original pick date my car got picked up. Highly unreliable and unacceptable customer service.

Quick and Stress-free way to scrap a car

I came to know about this company from an article about the 'do's and don'ts of getting rid of your old car' on The Guardian website. I was quite dubious after reading the first two negative reviews but I decided to give it a go after reading Lisa's positive review which I'm glad I did. The whole process of scrapping a car with Rewardsrecycling was surprisingly prompt and easy. The quote given was also much higher compared to the other online recycling companies.
I got a call from the collection company, Egertons Recovery to arrange for a collection. The staff I spoke to at Egertons were polite and helpful.. On the day of the collection, I was given a call to inform me the ETA and the process took no longer than 10 mins. I was given a vehicle collection slip by Egertons and a pin number was sent to my email after collection. I would highly recommend using Rewardsrecycling to scrap your car.

A smooth and positive experience

I was initially quite dubious about this company, since I read its other two other reviews on here, which were negative. First of all, I had contacted another online recycling company to scrap my vehicle (MegaVaux/ScrapYourCarOnline), who after accepting my application, refused to collect as they were based an hour away from my address. Rewardingrecycling had already quoted actually £17 more than MegaVaux anyway so after having a negative experience with the latter, I decided to bite the bullet and engage in my experience with them.

The application was accepted and again, I was given a company name who would be calling me to arrange collection. What I have discovered about these companies is that you don't seem to get that call within 4 hours and it just seems to be a standard thing that you have to call them. I haven't got a problem with this however and my call was answered very quickly and dealt with in a professional manner - so far so good. The gentleman on the phone confirmed my details and offered to pick up my vehicle early the next morning within an hour timeframe. This was especially pleasing since I note that they are based within the region of MegaVaux on the outskirts of Northants (Daventry). I agreed to this but again, I remained dubious because of the reviews I had seen where people were let down upon collection.

I am extremely happy to say however that 40 minutes into that hour timeslot, a recovery vehicle arrived with my paperwork and polite, clear instructions from a really friendly guy. My whole transaction with him took 5 minutes, including the time he took to put the car on the truck.

I have now used my details and the pin number given to me to request payment to go into my account. This is supposed to take four days so I am hopeful this will continue to be a smooth experience and this takes place. I'll update this review with further info than but as far as I'm concerned, this company are well worth dealing with and I'm a happy customer.

UPDATE
***********

Money received directly into my account exactly when it was promised (4 days to process) and I'm absolutely thrilled. I have had emails informing me of everything all the way through. Couldn't have had a more positive experience. Just proves that sometimes bad reviews can indicate one-off poor experiences, which doesn't help companies, but I'm so glad that I gave this company a chance to prove themselves, and they have come up trumps!

Avoid at all costs!

Having waited two weeks for Rewarding Recycling to pick up my car they have now informed me that it will take another two or three weeks. Be aware that when you 'accept' their quote it is only on the basis if they can find an 'agent' to pick it up. If they can't find an 'agent' then you are out of luck. None of this is clear on the website or in the email they sent me saying I would be contacted in 48 hours. I had to constantly phone them and spoke to several people, who didn't coordinate and gave me different stories. Avoid at all costs.

Disappointing

All looked very promising to begin with. However things changed on day of collection. Booked collection for a set day (today) and not had anybody visit to collect the car. This is despite a call to the collection contact centre to check a time and be advised somebody will be on their way within minutes of the call.
