⭐ 1 Star – Extremely Concerning Experience

Our experience with RH Financial Consultants and Richard Handcock and Chris Hosley has been extremely disappointing and deeply concerning.

Financial products were arranged for our family in 2014, including a Royal London life policy and a MetLife bond. Over time we discovered that ongoing adviser fees were being taken despite no ongoing advice, reviews, or services ever being provided.

In January 2021 we formally raised these issues after identifying adviser charges that appeared to total several thousand pounds per year. Despite raising these concerns directly at the time, the matter was never properly resolved.

More recently, we discovered that Richard Handcock is still recorded in connection with a Royal London life policy in a way that has prevented the policyholder from making changes or cancelling the policy directly.

We have repeatedly asked for a clear explanation of:

• The basis on which adviser fees were taken
• The nature of any services supposedly provided
• Why the adviser remains connected to the policy
• Full disclosure of any remuneration received

Unfortunately, rather than addressing these questions directly, we have been redirected elsewhere.

Given the seriousness of these issues, we are now gathering documentation and have requested full records from the insurer. If necessary we will be escalating the matter to the Financial Ombudsman Service and other relevant authorities.

We hope the firm will now engage constructively and provide the transparency that should have been given from the beginning. Be careful with this company!

Where do I start.

I contacted this company following a relationship breakdown, therefore leaving me with the requirement to find a new house. This time though was going to be the first time buying a house, on my own, with my young son. I was daunted to say the least.

I nervously contacted Richard and within seconds I felt at ease. Within days I felt like I was gaining control of my finances and within weeks I felt like the strongest, most independent woman known.

This process was not an easy one with the shadow of Covid and the housing market being so fragile, but with every step back down the ladder I was gently helped back up two steps by Richard and Emma.

They held my hand EVERY STEP OF THE WAY. Nothing was too much trouble, no phone call was too unnecessary and I was never made to feel a burden (which I most definitely was at times).

They remained by my side throughout and on receiving a phone call from Richard whilst on my way to collect my keys, son in tow, I cried. I cried because I didn’t have the words to thank him enough.
