This plant as past away, planted it warted it ,but it just past away

This plant looked healthy on arrival. However after planting it out in a pot next to the other hydrangea I purchased it just died. No idea why that should have happened. It was in a semi shaded position, fed and kept watered.

This plant arrived in a very bad condition. I was very disappointed as it was a present to thank a kind neighbour. She is an experienced hydrangea grower and has managed to keep it alive. On arrival,the buds were blackened and the leaves very damaged. This is not what I expected from the RHS. The 3 photos show its state today after weeks of trying to revive it from its sorry state.
