Extremely Poor Service

Sadly the service offered by the lettings side is very different to the actual experience received by a landlord. The reports are poor, communication is poor with questions from the landlord having to be chased numerous times, simple instructions are not followed and there seems to be a general and contunuous inability to do the simplest of tasks like reading a smart meter despite the landlord and Google providing the correct way to do it. A very expensive way of having to do the work yourself.

All our credit was declared an I was…

All our credit was declared an I was very clear with the agent how concerned I was about loosing a holding fee an we was garenteed that a gaurentour would cover us if we were declined . We were honest about our credit after checking our self's before proceeding . Had to keep calling to find out the status of this we have taken proceedings an will be taking matters further. Very bad service an very rude. Taking advantage of vunrable people leaving us in a much worser position after reassuring us we would definitely be able to let with gaurentour.

STAY CLEAR FROM HERE THEY WILL TELL YOU LIES they promised us that with a guarantor our bad credit wouldn't matter just so they could keep our holding fee absolute horrible company don't fall for there tricks , my wife became very sick after dealing with these crooks, every bit of information that we knew about which was most was revealed to them and after they convincing us with a guarantor this couldn't happen they still kept it , legal action is the only way you will get your money bk We have been through the complaint procedure with no success this is exactly what you want people to do when there homeless or nearly homeless you do this and hope people will roll over lie and more lies

We have just used Ridgewater estate…

We have just used Ridgewater estate agents in Paignton to organise letting our property in Torquay. Extremely happy with the service we received. We also used them before on previous tenancy. Very professional and informed us all the way through process. Would definitely reccomend their services. Thank you Ali and staff.

slow

not great service, keen to find a rental property and having the money and good references, we filled in a form as soon as rental was advertised...heard nothing back so followed up with a phone call and felt that the agents were not very interested ....applications being processed to view (other agents have got back to us within 24 hours) Landlords, you may be missing out on potentially good tenants as we possibly would go to other agents in the area who respond more quickly...we do not feel valued as customers.
I appreciate the reply - however I do feel it's good customer service to return a call which has been made to the office. I do appreciate the amount of applications you must receive - but then so do the other agents in the area, who go out of their way to build up a good relationship with tenant's searching for a home. We did start to avoid looking at Ridgewater properties after this experience with our home search. we wish them well, but feel they need to step up the pace and develop better customer service skills.

We are extremely busy with rentals at the momnent and it is not unusual to have a few hundred enquires in a couple of days for a property, unfortunately it it impossible to respond and conduct vieiwnging for 200 people so we have to pick around 10 people to view and accept an application from one of these.

Used to manage my property

Used to manage my property. They were insufficient and unprofessional. Had to sort out loads of problems when I took back the property. They just seemed focused on doing as little work as possible for the money. Try someone else!

Unhelpful

Trying to get a viewing through Ridgewater of a property was interested in and it's proving impossible. Company appears to be very disinterested in arranging viewings, and uses excuses like "you can't view at the weekend because that's when home owner wants some privacy" (even though the property was a vacant property) or "we only do viewings until 4pm" when other agencies are more flexible for potential buyers who work during the day. Then they cancel viewings because the time is suddenly not convenient to them. I would avoid this company if the experiences of dealing with them as a potential buyer is anything to go buy then dealing with them to sell your property would be equally problematic

Thank you for your review, During the very early part of the COVID 19 pandemic we were operating on reduced hours due to staff shortage and staff working safely from home. Many of our homeowners were also, understandably, being cautious about allowing entry to the property when they were at home. As a company were will always put our staff and customers' safety first and I am very sorry if we were not able to accommodate a viewing for you at a convenient time. We are now up to full staff levels and offer appointments during weekends and evenings if needed. Thank you for your understanding at this very difficult time for everyone.
