Received the PT99 antenna in great shape! NO damage whatsoever. Took me about 45 minutes to an hour to assemble an place in the backyard. Mounted to a MFJ fiberglass telescoping pole system. Also add the PT99 ground plane kit.
Radio is stock Uniden Bearcat 980SSB, 12 watts SSB. At the time of this writing the farthest contact was Central Washington state! So I would definitely recommend this product to anyone looking for a great and easy to setup base station antenna.
Another great thing is I'm not that high off the ground. Around 7.5 ft from ground to feed line connection, so great if you live somewhere where hight is a problem.
Winds, no real problems there either. Afternoon winds around here are typically 12 mph gusts to 18 mph on a average day, it will sway a little but nothing serious.
Suggestion, get about 50 ft of 8 gauge cable for your ground, I have mine grounded to the house. The MFJ is totally fiberglass so no interference there either.
