No longer viable due to retailer abuse
While Roamler used to be a good platform for small amounts of extra income, unfortunately retailers have become adept at abusing the app’s system to manipulate additional work out of users.
Most tasks are listed as being asked to take photos of a supermarket section for “stock review”. However, the terms of payment include a prerequisite of you organising, cleaning and relabelling all of the products on the shelf “for picture clarity”. As such, whenever a store section gets completely and unmanageably out of hand with trash, broken displays and products strewn at random all over the shelves, retailers use Roamler as a way to get their departments restocked and organised for them at the price of a few feedback photos, which equates down to roughly £4/hr of in-store time for the user.
This is not limited to single retailers, and I have found to be the case for Morrisons, Tesco and Nisa retail stores.
Within the roamler App, there is no way to report misuse like this, and customer service is not readily available. The consistent misleading of users is unfortunate. If retailers require an hour or two of ad-hoc assistance with restocking and cleaning in-store then they should advertise tasks as such, rather than hiding these responsibilities within the terms of lower reward jobs that should otherwise take no more than 15 minutes.

I spent time going to an out-of-town supermarket to photograph and note prices for me first task, following the real-time instructions. The next day it eventually turned out - I had to ask more than once - that nothing had been saved! What really, really, annoyed me was that nobody used that little word 'sorry' - not even in the sympathetic, never mind the apologetic sense. I was unimpressed by the jobs on offer in any case, so I deleted the app
The problem I've had so far with…
The problem I've had so far with Roamler is that they ask you to put yourself into very tricky situations that a normal mystery shopper wouldn't. They ask you to take photos in exposed places in which the staff can question you on what you're doing, while being entirely unconcerned with whether clients will be able to carry out the task or not. Most tasks are unannounced, which means that people are tasked with going to places in which they will be rejected out of hand for taking pictures of their premises, and others are focused on announced visits which are generally more low-paying than the unannounced ones. So, it seems like a bit of a trap.
Corporations and smaller companies are relying on Roamler for their agents to be 'lucky' on a given day, it isn't guaranteed money but they still expect people to do their dirty work for them regardless of outcome.
It is for this reason Roamler gets 1 star, and nothing else. If people make the effort to travel to a place, they deserve the full amount for it. However, Roamler doesn't offer this guarantee, which is why it gets 1 star.
I observe a trend developing with some predominantly online organisations that involves using people to their data-gathering ends, whether that be people doing surveys for the chance of money, or playing games. Roamler is no different in this regard. It waves a financial incentive in front of people's faces that people will never realistically be able to achieve.
I call that exploitation.

Roamler cancelled, rescheduled and cancelled again
IKEA scheduled the assembly of 8 pieces of furniture with Roamler Tech for August 22. Roamler called me and cancelled the scheduled assembly just the day before. They rescheduled it for the following week and the cancelled that one, too. All the boxes have been lying in my house since August 21, when they were delivered to me. The assembly was supposed to take place the next day. It has been 12 days now. Still waiting.

I had scheduled my first assembly delivery for Wednesday, 21/8, and the whole experience was a disaster. The evening before, they sent me two texts—one confirming the appointment for the 21st, and then almost immediately, another message saying the mechanic couldn't make it. The next day, instead of them reaching out to reschedule, I had to call them. They suggested Saturday, 24/8, which I agreed to, but I never got a confirmation.
So, on Friday, 23/8, I had to call them again to ask why I hadn't received any confirmation. They admitted that the mechanic had forgotten to send it but promised to handle it after our call and confirmed the mechanic would arrive on the 24th. Later that day, they sent a text saying the mechanic would come between 9-11 am, only to send another message shortly after, changing the time to 2-4 pm.
I ended up rearranging my entire day, canceled important plans, and drove from out of town, only to wait in an empty house for a mechanic who never showed up. The whole situation was beyond frustrating. It caused me significant stress, especially since I had so much going on already.
Because of this experience, I’ll never let anyone from that company come to my place again. I won’t support them or any similar businesses. The service they provided was just terrible, and I’m going to make sure other people know about it. Honestly, this was the worst service experience I've ever had.
I’ve demanded that they take immediate action to resolve this, including compensating me for all the inconvenience and stress they caused. If they don’t handle it properly, I’m planning to escalate the issue within the company and take further action if needed. IKEA is already aware of what happened, so I’m expecting a prompt response and resolution.

Spent hours taking pictures of shelves in supermarkets only for it to be rejected! I tried 5 tasks and not a single one was accepted and one shop I was told to go to didn’t even exist!

Would've been giving a 5 star review but after a month of full day work through this app I suddenly went demolished by a " Mark ".
The app gives You no company ID for almost any the tasks, yet multiple shops'n stores are asking for them and it'd not been any effort to include those badges on this application.
After the experiences I've had since "" Mark "" started ""moderating"" my account; stalking details that are NOT something he is supposed to ever even be using his access to, I would diplomatically, seriously hope, no company would continue their actions with this app.
I were going for merchandising tasks in the back rooms of stores such as Tesco's, Boots's and all, gaining lots of insights info and having completely unattended access to spaces where these foods are stored and everything.
Yet then suddenly a "Mark" chooses to kick me out of my job that I'd then have been doing for over a month, gaining great experience and becoming more available for them market professions, and all this by his consideration he is allowed to require me not to highlight any words in phrases with CAPS LOCK neither to say "Excuse me?" when I am suddenly being provided with completely blatantly illegal withdrawals of salaried based on claims fully and completely unreasonable.
This company is irresponsible, not looking to even verify any identities of their workers before sending them into the backrooms of stores with no company ID's or nothing.
Then it kicks out people from the platform and does what?
Seems like a security threat to me, just gaining info about how to sneak people into them backrooms to steal stuff or what?
As for instance one of them tasks is to go and make sure shelves are full on stock of Red Bull, yet all stores tryina say there are thieves coming to grab tens and tens of those exact soft drinks from the stores to sell them away.
So what is this?
Is it even a part of Red Bull's merchandising or just a lie of a thief company or what on earth is going on here?
Considering, no legal rights of individuals are respected at all whatsoever and completely often salaries of tasks go withdrawn by seriously unacceptable ""reasons"".
Then?
Kicked out and access blocked from phone, IP, any account used in this IP, any account used in this phone AND SO ON.
I'd just reserved myself another week in Hostel in London to proceed committing these tasks when this ""Mark"" either chooses I don't have the right to speak OR "will be suspended".
I then asked of he considers that as normal behaviour and not violence, so he completely blocked my account(s), device, IP and so on. !!
