Avoid this company.

I invested in about a dozen Rockpool investments in 2013-15. Over ten years later, only one of those investments has paid out the expected return.

The gap between promises and execution is excessive. Promised five‑year exits stretch into many more years, with even those investments that have not failed completely being "rolled" into new schemes with ever more distant payback dates.

The worst example is a scheme I invested in in 2014 with a "2019-21 payback expectation". It is now showing as "Expected payback in 2037".

Nearly all of the companies Rockpool invests in look most unlikely to produce any returns to investors, which implies either an extreme level of ignorance about this sector or an extreme level of overhyping in their marketing.

In addition, customer service is non-existent, phone calls are not returned, the "account officer" assigned to me keeps changing.

Repeating my opening comment: Avoid this company.

I was encouraged by Rockpool to put money into multiple opportunities Rockpool Investments raised funds for around 2016, 2017 and 2018.

Nearly ten years later, none of those investments has returned any capital to me!

I have lost a six‑figure amount that represented my family’s life savings; the emotional and financial fallout has been severe and led to a lot of family arguments.

Rockpool focuses on selective, dubious metrics — especially EBITDA — in their updates, which gave a highly misleading impression of health while the underlying businesses continued to burn cash and are loss making.

Promised five‑year exits stretched into many more years with no successful exits for the companies I backed or those of other investors I am in contact with.

Based on what I’ve seen, more or less all of Rockpool Investments businesses are losing money and look incredibly unlikely to produce an exit that would repay investors.

I also observed that staff and management of Rockpool Investments and the friends they raise funds for have continued to draw very substantial pay and enjoy perks while investor capital diminished. That pattern convinced me the fundraising primarily served to fund their staff rather than deliver investor returns. It's a self-serving cabal.

This is my honest, personal account and opinion. If you’re thinking of investing with Rockpool, stay well clear!
