I recently hired a car from Rodos for a day trip to Lindos and had a frustrating experience that I think others should be aware of.
When booking, windscreen insurance wasn’t included in the price, it was an extra €10 and it wasn’t made particularly clear how costly that could be if something went wrong. During the day out, a small pebble hit the windscreen and caused a minor chip—something that can easily happen to anyone.
Unfortunately, because we didn’t have that extra cover, we were charged €600 for the damage. This felt extremely excessive for such a small incident and really took away from what should have been an stress-free trip.
I strongly feel that windscreen cover should either be included as standard or much more clearly highlighted during the booking process so customers can make an informed decision. Situations like this can easily catch people out and leave a very negative impression.

I can't believe I'm writing a favorable review for a car rental company. I "checked in" in advance so my time at the counter was less than ten minutes. Very professional. Car lot is on airport property. Another ten minutes and I was on my way. When I dropped off the car, the rep. did a quick walk around and said it was fine, not the microscopic some rental companies do

I booked the car on line (no deposit) and pre-registered licence/passport details. I added a note that I needed an additional driver and the reception desk at the airport had the paperwork ready to add the additional driver. It took less that five minutes before I had paid and had the keys.
The car had full insurance and no deposit nor credit card was required. There was also no attempt to upsell.
The car pick up is a small walk across the front of the airport car park. The damage report was already prepared so just a quick check over, confirmation of fuel levels and we were on our way.
The car (Toyota Aygo) had 64000k on it and a few dings, which is to be expected at the end of the season. All tyres were very good and the car drove well.
Return to the airport is in the same place in the car park. Just a quick confirmation of pre-existing damage and fuel. No hassle at all.
The rental was very reasonable (under €20 per day) including full insurance. I always take out additional insurance cover in UK (£60 per year) to cover keys, locks and underside which are never generally covered on Greek insurance.
I would definitely recommend.

Good value for money. We really appreciated that they brought the car to our accommodation in Rhodes town, which saved us some time and hassle in the morning. All communication was smooth, they were very responsive, and there were no issues with the rental process or the car itself. Easy as it should be. Also, after dropping the car off at the rental office, they drove us to the port free of charge for our boat trip. That was a nice touch of customer service.

This was our second time using Rhodos Cars and it’s was just as good as the first.
Easy booking process, hardly any waiting at their kiosk, received the car I booked (Citroen C3) and a quick and easy car collection.
The car was in good condition everything worked, and it had only done 24000 miles.
Just what was needed for 2 weeks.
We will definitely be using them again.

Great experience, no issues, no deposit required. Paid on arrival.
If I could give zero stars I would. Various cars are advertised as available, but after completing the lengthy booking process and providing all my passport and licence details, the request is denied due to “no availability.” This happened twice for different dates. To make things worse, when you message on WhatsApp for support, you are completely ignored.

Car rental 2 days resulted in a treaty from Wednesday. 8:30 am until Thursday evening 8:30 p.m. This means 36 instead of 48 hours!!!
Car itself was ok.
The reception of the Hotel was so kind to make a phone call to Reservate the car for 2 days, the treaty therefore was only visibly when taking the car the next morning.
It might be better to reservate online instead via Hotel.

Booked a car for 12:30 and was cancelled because they said i didn’t answer on the phone at 12:00 even if i called back 5 minutes after the missed call, i was told they can make it at 13:00 which i didn’t want as i have already lost half day because of all the delays
Very unprofessional wouldn’t recommend
And expensive not as they say from 16€/day 🤣

Renting a car in a popular holiday destination can often feel like a gamble — and unfortunately, we've had our fair share of bad experiences in other countries. Hidden fees, blocked deposits for weeks... we've learned to be cautious.
When planning our first family trip to Rhodes in 2023 (six people in total), we searched for a rental company that could provide a 7-seater vehicle with clear, honest pricing. We found Rodos Cars, and I'm so glad we did.
Booking required no deposit (a huge plus already). The service at the airport terminal and the handover point in the parking area was fast, friendly, and efficient. We received exactly the vehicle we reserved (Nissan Evalia), which suited us perfectly.
Returning the car at the airport was equally smooth — no stress, no surprises. This great experience led us to book with Rodos Cars again in June 2024 and now in June 2025. The last two years we've driven a Toyota Proace City — again, exactly as reserved.
We've always paid at the airport using a debit card, never had to leave a deposit, and never faced hidden charges. Special thanks to the amazing lady at the outdoor parking handover point — her service has been outstanding every time.
Compared to the usual Southern Europe rental chaos, Rodos Cars is an absolute exception — honest, professional, and scam-free. Highly recommended.

I was staying for a month on Rhodes last October. A Rodos car agent came to my villa and left me the hire car. She demanded I what’s app a copy of my credit card to them. I wasn’t happy about this. She phoned her English husband in front of me and he said rules are rules. I did so reluctantly. And immediately froze my card online. I kept it frozen for the whole trip and only unlocked it in January when I needed to pay for a hotel in the UK. Then my card as used on Rhodes to buy a Rolex watch via eBay ! £8000 was taken off my credit card. My card company said someone had tried to use it most days since November and failed as it was locked. Luckily I had my money back. I text the lady who dropped my car off and she immediately tried to phone me. I told her to get lost and the police are involved. I emailed Rodos cars and they never replied. Avoid this scam of a company at all costs ! 😡

Excellent Service
We pre-booked the car using their website from the UK at a very competitive price for 7 days. No pre-payment was required. We picked up the car from our hotel in Kolimbia and that process was quick and efficient.
I’d used the car for a couple of days and noticed a very minor non mechanical fault. I reported that at 1700 and was given an almost brand new car as a replacement by 1930. I was very happy with that for the rest of the period.
One thing to note, and may well not be limited to this company, is the meaning of ‘F.D.W. Full Damage Waiver with no excess (No Deposit) Insurance’. This, as I understand it only relates to if you have an accident. As it happened I had my own insurance to cover any costs relating to damage not caused in an accident. I got the impression that other renters have also been surprised by that.

Our first trip to Rhodes, we didn't know how to get around so decided to hire a car. (Can always be dodgy with extra hidden charges etc). In the reception of our resort, Cooks Club, we saw a Rodos hire car company and spoke to Costas. What a wonderful charming man who gave us sound advice on interesting places to go on our travels around the island and saved us lots of money on taxi fares. Hiring a car from Costas was straight forward and very easy with no hidden extras, which was a God send.
Fully recommend Rodos as a trusted hire car company.

Ordered a car for 1 day, received a different car, not even been mentioned we getting a different car, no update from them
Paid 850 euros deposit and been told I have to wait 30 DAYS TO GET IT BACK!!! Never again! Horrible experience and waiting for 30 days to get deposit back is too long!! Other car hire companies refund this within a day!
AVOID THIS CAR HIRE!!!

On the last day of hire two people attempted to break into the car. They were spotted by a passerby and alerted us and the thieves ran off empty handed. Police were called and details taken. Despite preventing their car from being stolen I was told I had to pay for the broken side window €208 as the theft insurance did not cover a car that was not taken.!!!!!

Despite being told there was “Full Damage Waiver with no excess (No Deposit)”. On picking up the car I was told tyres, wheels, windscreen, and underbody were extra. On paying out for this, then told the insurance company would still require a €40 excess in event of damage. What a racket! Avoid!
