A French fig variety first written about all the way back in the 17th century, 'Goutte d'Or' is a naturally compact and shrubby tree notable for its biferous nature (often providing two harvests per year) Producing deliciously sweet, yellow-green figs at the start of summer and then again at the season's end, this variety is small enough to grow in a large container, making it ideal for patios and balcony gardens Another feature that makes this fig suitable for growing here in the UK is that it tolerates both wet and cold weather (come on, it wouldn't be Britain without a mention of the weather...) Whack your hand-picked figs in a roasting tray, drizzled with some honey, and let the oven do the rest! My version is stringy and untrained and has virtually no form apart from the central main stem. Was expecting a bush style plant that was reasonably well established as the pot size and therefore price was significant.

Arrived in good timing and quality. Still with a few figs on so brought my plant inside to ripen as not far off ripe. Over winter my plant inside this year. Very healthy plant and nice size.

I give this company a poor review. Not happy with plant or how it was left by courier. Customer service grim. No telephone number. My plant may recover - hope so - but the sellers couldn’t care less.

Absolutely delighted with all the plants I got from roots. We have put them in a shed now for the winter and I am terrified that something awful might happen to them. If it does it won't be your fault. They all arrived in tip-top condition. This one was especially good as it was bearing a fig when it arrived. It ripened and we ate it (gorgeous!) Can't wait for next year!
