Product details

Brand: Roots Plants

One of the most popular hydrangeas, and unsurprisingly so, 'Annabelle' stuns with its voluminous snowy blooms, which can measure up to 25cm across and present themselves in a lovely domed shape. This variety makes for a stunning flowering hedge, but can just as easily be treated as a standalone shrub in its own dedicated bed, such is its visual impact. Flowering atop a bed of rich green foliage, the blooms emerge in summer and make for excellent cut flowers in bouquets and decorative arrangements. Don't let the ostentatious appearance of the plant fool you, because it's still remarkably tough (H6 hardiness) and resilient to a range of conditions, including salty coastal air. 'Annabelle' is a deserving recipient of the RHS Award of Garden Merit, showcasing its high level of performance in British gardens.

The product is excellent but of the six we ordered, five were ‘Annabelle’ and one was clearly not - a darker leafed, red bloomed variety. Sadly we didn’t realise until planting them out, so it’s made a bit of a mess of the planned impact!

Not Roots’ fault but because DX delivered this four days late it was completely dry and leafless. I planted it but will have to wait until spring to see if it survived all the extra days in a depit.
