Been using this florist for years, always met expectations, the selection of flowers are great. The staff are welcoming and friendly, they will go above and beyond even for a rush order which honestly was amazing. Would give more stars if i could

Roses Florist Very Disappointing

Roses Florist was recommended to us by a close family friend and her daughter and as the shop was nearby, my wife and I called in a few days prior to a funeral the flowers were required for.

The assistant in the shop was very helpful and we looked through various photos of bouquets/poses etc. The photos we looked at were the same as shown on Rose's website and we decided on a standard posy to include pink roses and lisianthus. The posy was to be delivered to the address the funeral cortege was leaving from. All seemed to be on track. We received an emailed receipt detailing what had been ordered etc and we got a message to confirm that the deliver had taken place.

When we arrived at the address there were various flower arrangements outside which included ours. We were so disappointed with it and quite upset. The posy had just a single rose and not many lisianthus. It bore little resemblance to the picture we viewed in the shop and on the website. We decided to complain and emailed the florist. Becky responded by saying how disappointing it was to receive a complaint and then proceeded to effectively blame the shop assistant for not explaining that a standard posy only gets one rose (despite what the website described) and tell us how expensive roses are currently. I emailed back to point out that the order and receipt stated roses (plural) and the standard posy on the website (same picture in the shop) also included more than one rose. We haven't had a response to that email.

This is a clear case of publicity material not matching what is supplied so beware and if you consider using this florist, make absolutely sure before you pay that what you view and are told about, you are actually going to get.

Thank you so much for taking the time to to give us a review on trust pilot. You contacted me 5 days after your order was delivered, I have explained that your order was to value and did contain the flowers you asked for, be it all only one rose in the centre but as I said as a standard price item had we put more in it would have made your arrangement tiny. You fail to mention the smaller headed spray roses which were also in there ?
I have not blamed the shop assistant I merely pointed out they I needed to speak to her before I commented on what had been said to you in store, which as I suspected was exactly what I had said to you that roses are expensive, we will use flowers to give value for money. At no point in store were you shown the posy which is on our website, nor did you mention it to the staff.
You fail to mention you had been offered a discount on a future purchase , we could not offer a refund as you had waited, for whatever reason, 5 days to complain. The discount offer is now withdrawn. I also stated that we hate complaints, we truly do as this job is very personal but we are only human but on this occasion you had a posy arrangement at our standard price with a rose, spray roses and Lisianthus in at your request.
I was going to respond via email this morning because I have had to wait until staff were here to speak to.

Three separate disappointing experiences

On three separate occasions we had dealings with Roses
1/ I enquired about ordering something and was told she would phone me back, no phone call.
2/ I had a beautiful large Bouquet of flowers arrive but was disappointed, no flower food. I was told oh I must've forgotten the flower food ha ha. Change the water every day and they will be fine.
3/ again a beautiful large Bouquet of flowers arrived(about 4weeks later) again no flower food. Also my name was spelt incorrectly. My other half phoned up to say how disappointed we were, even Aldi supermarket flowers come with flower food. We were told the boss would phone us back. No phone call, no apology, no if you are passing call-in and get some flower food. Is this really a way to run a business?

Its always disappointing when we don't meet someone's expectations although its unusual we would fail to call someone back. Its also strange that we would say we have forgotten the flower food, we don't use it and haven't for a while and we don't laugh at people we just tell the truth. Changing the water every few days and keeping it clean is the best thing you can do, flower food is an added expense we don't wish to pass on to our customers. Finally I have checked our data base, I have input your name in different ways as you say we mis spelt it and unless we don't have your surname their is no trace of you on our customer base.
Can I suggest that if this is a genuine review for a small business you try reaching out to them rather than giving a poor review on a well known review site, damaging our reputation. You actually don't comment on our flowers, you are disappointed you didn't get flower food. We have a really good reputation, I am the boss and had I had a note to call you back I would have. If you did have flowers delivered recently it would have been me that delivered them and had you asked about flower food I would have explained. Kind regards

Lovely ladies and lovely flowers!

Absolutely stunning flowers every time I have ordered, they last so much longer than the supermarket, are much better quality and the roses are twice the size! Thankful to have had amazing service over the years for wedding, funeral, Mother’s Day flowers, general gifts and occasionally a little treat for myself. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend, happy to support a local small business!

Absolutely beautiful wedding flowers…

Absolutely beautiful wedding flowers that completely fitted the brief and colour ideas given to Becky. Mixture and quality of flowers was perfect. Perfect attention to detail.
This is the 2nd time used for a wedding with the same excellent continuity of flowers and service

30th Bouqet for my daughter.

Id left it quite late to order a bouquet for my daughter. Becky from Roses Florist not only made the most exquisite arrangement she hand delivered it on a Sunday at no extra cost. The attention to detail was stunning exactly what i wanted if not more Id recommend her beautiful work to anyone. Superb customer service. Thankyou.
