I have a soldering torch and use various cartridges from different manufacturers for soft soldering, mainly plumbing fittings of brass and copper. I had a job to do that required a higher temperature of brazing -- that is joining two pieces of metal together with a melted brass joint. Brass melts at about 900 to 950C depending on the composition. Rothenberger advertise on their website that their cartridges will produce heat of 2200C. I bought one of their products --Maxygas Oxyturbo-- from a shop and on the cartridge it stated that it would produce 3050C. I did not believe this exaggeration for one minute, but as their website quoted 2200C, I guessed that it would be 1000 plus degrees C. Not a hope in hell of brazing with their product. All the figures quoted are just marketing lies to sell the goods. It was not hot enough to braze with and when we put a heat monitor on it, it read 780C with the torch wide open. So for soldering fine -- but not for brazing.

Bought a rofrost pro turbo 28 , absolute great bit of kit , until the temperature clamps kept falling apart and trying fix myself on a job with gaffer tape just to keep it clamped on the pipe to freeze . 7 month still under warranty but told where to buy the complete clamp and temp kit , so I take it there’s no warranty , only thanks to rep who had to source the parts for me . Will buy from rothenberger again as they are good,but at least carry out parts under warranty
