YEOVIL BRANCH Avoid at all costs

Due to the appalling treatment and terrible customer service we have received from this branch we have waisted time, lost money and now are seriously stressed as a result. Christmas has been ruined due to the financial impact their errors have caused.

We have due to a finance agreement no choice but to use only 3 available citroen vauxhall dealerships for warranty covered repairs. This is nearest branch for us to get to. It is a 2 hour round trip.

We needed to get a repair carried out on our newly acquired vehicle.

We phoned this branch, explaining that a warning light had come on. We were told the following things:

1. It's probably air in the fuel pipe.
2. But to bring it in, next appointment would be 30 days.
3. Or call out our recovery service and get it fixed at Local garage.

After we explained that the vehicle was under lease with warranty, the advice remained the same, but an appointment with them was made, a month later.

We arrived on said appointment date. To be told there was no booking, and that it could not have been their branch as no men work on reception. (It was a male we spoke too).

A new booking was made, confirmed via email. For 2 weeks later.

We returned.
They didn't do the work.
But didn't tell us either, just gave us the keys.
When the warning light came on, we returned to reception the man on reception ( remember men don't work on reception) went to speak to the mechanic.
15 minutes later he returned, "You need to come back, We're organising a part, it's the break light", he said, booked the 2nd appointment.

They had also washed the vehicle and scratched it .

We returned a 3rd time. The work was done. The keys were handed over, we were told, "We need you to come back, it needs another part". When we asked what part, and what was the fault, they did not know. And were not offering to find out.

At this point we phoned head office relaying how this was impacting us.

Due being restricted on a travelling radius due to increased accident risk, we were unable to take job bookings further afield.

We also lost half a day to a days work on each trip, and wasted fuel and time.

We were promised a call from the manager to discuss these issues.

So far no call.

Once we are done with this current issue we will be avoiding this branch at all costs

unable to book out

Bad experience

A few days ago I went by car for a healthy check, in Street Rowcliffes. I received a message inviting me for a free healthy check at the car. I requested if they find anything wrong with the car, to be changed. Because they didn't find anything, they thought of taking some money from me in a completely and utterly embarrassing and humiliating way for any Service, which for me was like a robbery, a theft with proper documents from my own pocket , they changed my car filters and oil without being asked, even if the car had done MOT two months before and the oil was 80%, which everyone could see on the car dashboard, the filters were also changed two months ago . I didn't drive more that 500 miles since I've done the MOT. They mentioned it's my fault not telling them about MOT. I'm sure it's a practice there with that to charge people, because is the second time I've been to them and this has happened to me. I do not recommend this service and if I could I would give minus 5 stars. Shame Rowcliffes !

Excellent service

I have just got a new Crossland from Rowcliffes in Street, the whole experience from looking at the car to picking it up five days later was excellent. The salesperson Darren was brilliant from making sure the car fits our needs and budget, to explaining all our options of purchasing any extras within our budget. We found all the staff very friendly and helpful and made our visit a very pleasant and relaxed. We picked our car five days later and the car and all the paperwork were explained to us in a very professional way. I have had over 20 years in the motor trade and found Rowcliffes one of the best l have experienced having dealt with, l would recommend them to my family and friends.

Damaged Car

Brought the car in to the yeovil branch due to a safety recall update , and whilst dropping the keys in overheard a member of staff telling another member of staff that a vehicle check was not needed. When I picked the car up and at home we noticed a new dent and scratch underneath the passenger door . Phoned up and complained and was told it wasnt them and later on was given the managers email address to send photos in to review. it has now been almost 3 weeks since i emailed and had no response. Garage seams very carless, and would rather travel in future for any other work need to be done by citroen. If you do take your car to the garage make sure they do a vehicle check

Poor service

I took my car to Walton branch of Rowcliffs on Monday 21st August 2023. I had booked this several weeks ago when contacted by a pleasant lady from bookings. Upon arrival I was told, " We have no car with that registration booked in. You're the seventh person I've said that to today." No apology or the word sorry was mentioned. I have been buying vauxhall cars and having them serviced there for 18 years. I was appalled by treatment I received. I have had to scrabble around to find a garage to fit me in for an MOT this month. All I was offered was mid September by the chap on the desk of Rowcliffs. I shall not be returning!

Perfect buying experience

We were recently browsing cars on the spoticar website and two which interested were at Rowcliffes in Taunton so i called them to make an initial enquiry as we are based in South Wales. I spoke with Laurence in sales - very helpful and friendly and we made an appointment for the next day so I could travel to the dealership to view the vehicles.

Upon arrival Laurence greeted me and showed me around the vehicles - he then took a look at the vehicle I wanted to part exchange and allowed me to test drive the vehicle i was interested in.

After the test drive we sat down and Laurence did the calculations and offered a price which i was happy with for the part exchange and we then completed the deal and i left pleased and excited that I'd purchased a new vehicle.

Laurence kept in touch over the next few days as we arranged for a suitable change over day for the next week - upon returning to the dealership to drop off and collect the new car Laurence was very helpful, we completed the relevant forms, exchanged keys and then went out to look at the new car where Laurence showed me around the car and explained all the buttons etc.

The car was very clean and shiny and looked the business - very happy with it.

I found Laurence to be very friendly, very helpful and have no problem recommending Rowcliffes, Taunton.

I will certainly be back to look at another vehicle in the future.

If you own a Subaru

If you own a Subaru, or any other car, don't waste your money and time to go there; they don't know what they are doing.
I would not trust them to change a wheel on my car.
I had a sensor issue on my car, took it there, they cleared the error code and messed the alarm system. Problem was not resolved.
Second time, they changed a sensor. When arriving at home, some error code. Opened the bonnet and to my surprise the new sensor was not even bolted which resulted in an oil leak.
They refused to offer any compensation. Don't go there, the customer service in Rowcliffes is extremely poor.

Dishonest Rowcliffes TAUNTON

I bought a 2nd hand 2012 Astra estate automatic 5 years ago from Rowcliffes TAUNTON for aprox £8,500. It was my first very nice, nearly new car i've ever had so i vowed to look after it. I payed for the Vauxhall service plan monthly so when it came to MOT and service, money was already sorted (in respect of a service). I knew taking it back to the main dealer every year for MOT and service would be more expensive but i thought that i would get what i payed for (i.e top quality customer service with honest, professional mechanics). The first couple of years the car had its MOT and service and came back to me fully cleaned inside and out and courtesy cars offered which was good. The customer service in the years following started to deteriorate (car half cleaned and no courtesy car). I still stuck to what I knew and who I thought I could trust.
My most recent and last dealing i'll ever have with Rowcliffes TAUNTON I can only describe as underhanded and damn right dishonest.
The car prior to the MOT & service was changing gear erratically and revving too high. I also had a warning message come up "service transmission". Not a problem, I just need the gear box serviced.
During the MOT I asked them to look at the gear box along with fitting 4 new tyres. When i got the car back they could only fit 2 tyres and didn't do the gear box. I had to re book the car in to be looked at.
When it went back in I wasn't promised that it would be done that day which was fine as i just wanted it sorted. I had a phone call at 15:00 that day saying that they haven't fitted the tyres as there was a huge problem with the gear box, it would probably cost more than the car is worth. There was apparently an oil leak from the gear box and stripping it down and putting back together at £108 an hour would take 4 hours, add on the time it would take to fix, well, you do the maths! They also couldn't confirm they could fix it either (if there is a crack in the gearbox casing, its a new gearbox) so doing all that work could be a waste of time and obvious money. I was told a new gearbox was worth more than the car also. I was told that the car shouldn't be driven and at this point I was advised to take the car next door to the sales office and trade in for a new car. I wasn't prepared to do that as the car was still decent, 88,00 miles on the clock and a full main dealer service history. After lots of debating in my head I asked them to strip and find out what the issue was. they told me they couldn't look at it till the following week (roughly 9 days i think). Gutted, i still said for them to do it. I drive approx 250 miles every weekend as i work away so I had to borrow my girlfriends car for the week as I was offered no courtesy car. During my wait without a car i missed a call from Rowcliffes TAUNTON and they left a voice mail saying there was great news about my Vauxhall, I thought they'd fixed it! So I called back only to realise that it was the sales office (which is right next door) telling me that my vauxhall has gone up in value and that i should trade in and buy a new one. It was becoming clear what was going on at Rowcliffes TAUNTON. After a bit if clear thinking i decided to get a 2nd opinion so collected the car and drove it to great little garage called Calibre Autos. The guy put me at ease straight away and said it would take around an hour at £60 and hour to find the issue and let me know what needed to be done.
I had a phone call that day to say that the car was ready to collect. "What? You've fixed it???", "yes". The car was plugged into the computer relaying no faults with pressure assuring that there was no crack or leak (surely Rowcliffes TAUNTON have one of these computer things). Calibre Autos adjusted the clutch slightly and checked the oil level in the gearbox. The oil level should be at 7 lts and he only found 3 lts of dirty oil in there. Calibre Autos drained the old oil out and replaced with fresh oil. I think Rowcilffes TAUNTON missed the obvious clue "service transmission!"
Now, I know very little about cars and presumed that when it goes in for a service there is a list of everything that needs to be done after so many miles or so many years. I would have thought that the gear box would have been serviced during at least 1 of my 5 service visits to Rowcliffs TAUNTON. You can't tell me that Rowcliffes TAUNTON didn't know what to do with the car because at £108 an hour they should be all over it! So for the time and money Rowcliffes TAUNTON took to not even address the problem (over 2 weeks), it took an honest little back street garage a morning and a much smaller bill. The car now drives like a dream, thank you Calibre Autos and as for you Rowcliffes TAUNTON, I will never use you, any Rowcliffes garage or buy Vauxhall ever again. If could give you minus 5 stars I would!

Undisclosed damages, beware dishonest sales people

I fully pre-paid for a 4 year old, Citroen-certified vehicle, with an extended Citroen warranty. I went to pick it up, but, upon seeing the vehicle in person, suspected undisclosed damage and issues. Asked what would happen if I backed out of the sale, I was told I would only be refunded a portion of my money. The salesman agreed to pay for an RAC inspection and provide a full refund should the inspection reveal major issues. He assured me multiple times that the car had been thoroughly inspected and not been in an accident. 4 days later the RAC report revealed at least 2 accidents, major bodywork done, parts of it poorly repaired, and multiple computer error codes, among other issues. I relayed this information to the dealership, who agreed to purchase the car back (admitting that the car was faulty) but refused to compensate me for the cost of the inspection. The same car was listed again immediately (at a higher listing price), with no disclosure of the damage. Highly recommend to avoid this dishonest dealership.
