Do Not Hire RSM Builders of Lake Wales, FL

Prior to hiring RSM, we were told the project would not take longer than 4 months, which included time for issues and weather. In fact, we were told repeatedly, the job would be done by Xmas (less than the 4 months). It wasn't done by Xmas or the 4 months. The work was fantastic until it got to the drywall and finishing work. During construction the area of the yard was never picked up or cleaned up. Tires got holes from nails and other debris. Construction days were few with no work ever being done on Mondays and Fridays, never work on weekends to catch up. Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays had crews coming for a couple hours and then leaving, if they came at all. There was horrible communication from the company, either not informing or giving false information. Therefore, many issues on what was believed to happen and what actually happened. Sub-contractors were hired to do the work, but no one checked on the sub-contractors to make sure they were doing what was asked or doing it well. Painting was horrible with large drips, paint streaks, and not painted areas, drywall enclosed wifi cables in the wall, covered a light, drywall has large mistakes in it. Floors were never covered while work was done so floors were scratched throughout the home. We called the owner. He had a few items corrected but not all. No one seemed to care whether they completed the job or if the job was done well. We had an inspector come out because the work we could see was horrible so we wanted to make sure the work we couldn't see was safe. It wasn't. It was a nightmare working with this company. They are willing to give false information, otherwise known as lie, to get out of doing what is right. It took way longer than the stated dates of completion. Every excuse possible was given as to why late but it was easy to see that if no one works on the project, it can't possibly get done. They also had workers that used our saws and walked away with a brand-new charger and battery.
