At Woodside, we found our two beautiful new canine companions. The top-notch assistance and attention we received was exceptional.

Funny helpful staff told me a lot about the beautiful greyhound turbo who I adopted in June 2025 the only thing that they didn’t do was a home visit just provided photos of my back garden but he is the a loving friendly dog who likes lots of cuddles he is great with people and other dogs and now his health problems have been sorted I am so pleased I adopted him I love him and I know he loves me what not be without him now thank you

Firstly, I must say I fully appreciate the work the RSPCA do. My experience in dealing with them has however been negative in terms of the information I have been given via email, telephone and visiting in person. If you are considering adopting a dog from here please note that most of their cases are cruelty cases (which I was told over the phone today) and as we have children under 16 visiting occasionally they wouldn't recommend a puppy or dog is rehomed with us despite us being experienced rescue dog owners. I accept this as their policy, however I would like to see the information they provide on their website, via email and telephone change to reflect this.

Adopted 2 cats from Woodside, animals are well looked after by a team of dedicated people.The information to look after them was delivered in a professional way. They have a well stocked supply of bedding, food, treats and playthings.

Me and my partner both adopted two cats together to make our house into a home.
We have 2 young children that come and see us a few times a week and it had proven difficult for us to find a cat we could adopt that would be comfortable around children and adopting a cat that needed a home was something we were both passionate about. I called Woodside to see if they had a cat ready for a forever home that was comfortable around children and not only did we give one cat a forever home we were lucky enough to give two a forever home. They are lovely, happy and healthy cats. They have been with us nearly a week but they are already brilliant to have in the home. We both really appreciated all the help from Woodside. They helped us through everything we needed to know to give these two the best possible life we can. The whole team made us feel welcome and comfortable even in these things horrible times and we got to see the cats a number of times before we took them home.

Very caring knowledgeable dedicated hard working team ,always put the care of the animals first .
They make time to answer any questions that you have ,the grounds and the kennels are well maintained and clean
The time and level of training that they give each animal is amazing ,just teaching basic commands makes the animals more relaxed and settled and is an absulote god send when you foster ör adopt and your pet is well trained
Each and every person who works / volunteers there are woth their weight in gold

Staff are very friendly and helpful. Jess was so helpful and had a wicked sense of humour, Fiona and Georgie in the cattery were so friendly. They do an amazing job. My fur baby has settled in to her forever home in less than 24 hrs, like she's always been here. Who knows how she was dealt with before, but these wonderful people have made her realise we aren't all monsters.

We can't fault the first class service we received at Woodside!
The nutritional advice we received from Gemma was also invaluable and has educated us, with regard to buying dog food and mixer.
Thanks to Woodside, we now have 'Otis', a wonderful new member of the family; they are beyond question, absolutely superb at what they do and we wouldn't hesitate to go back to them in the future!

Cannot thank Woodside enough for bringing us the most perfect forever friend. Every single person we dealt with whilst adopting Lenny were all full of love and a pleasure to talk to, Teresa(I think the receptionist was called) was a dream with everything she explained to us, was so lovely each time we came and as she's a volunteer it opened my eyes to how amazing people can be. Gemma went through all the details we needed and even helped us size up his new coats and leads and everything! Again, lovely! Even down to the people who bought him to us when we came to visit, Abbie&Katie to name a few, were all so amazing and the day we took him home you just knew they love each and every animal that goes in and out the doors. Nothing but amazing from everyone. Cannot thank Woodside and every single volunteer/worker there enough.

We got our dog from them nearly 4 years ago and they were great.
The staff are always friendly and knowledgeable and know a lot of the visiting dogs (previously rehomed coming to purchase things from the shop) by name.
Great place to go and would recommend to anyone.

Everyone is lovely and helpful, Chris who did our home visit was very helpful and talked through all the information with us. Anyone looking to adopt a pet I would highly recommend woodside 😀

I adopted Trixie in April/ May and she has settled in really well.
She only has one eye but , still managed to bring a field mouse in from the garden!
She is full of affection and love and is a wonderful addition to my home.
Very impressed with the staff , volunteers and facilities at Woodside!!
If you have room in your home and your heart , check out the beautiful creatures that need a second chance of happiness!!

Adopted my cat from here, helpful, full of advice, and equally excited when you find your little munchkin. Would highly recommend. I've had my cat now for coming on 4 years, best thing I ever did after being so disheartened by another RSPCA in burton.

What wonderfully organised,caring and dedicated people they are who manage, run and work at woodside.....Not to mention all the volunteers.keep up the good work.......btw the residence love you too woof woof!

Adopted my cat through Woodside. Can't fault them, such a great cause.

We took a very poorly stray cat to Woodside Animal Centre. The staff were fantastic. They nursed him back to health and cared for him when he needed four weeks of medication and regular veterinary care. They have found him a “forever” home and I really couldn’t ask for more.

Great staff who ensure you get great personal service
The reception staff are lovely and all the staff who look after the animals work hard to ensure the animals under their care are given the best life that is possible
