frustrating experience

I had a very disappointing experience with Ryanair. They charged us €50 for a very small bag my fiancée was carrying — it only contained her phone and passport and was nowhere near large. It felt unreasonable and excessive.
On top of that, the airport experience was poorly organized. There was a long line with only one counter open to issue boarding passes, handling multiple flights at the same time. The wait was frustrating and unnecessary.
To make matters worse, there were also delays. Overall. It honestly felt like they don’t hesitate to squeeze as much money as possible out of passengers.

ADDITIONAL SERVICES SCAM....AVOID AT ALL COST!!

I don't have a problem with booking my flight, however I do have a problem with Ryanair offering discounted train tickets that are in actual truth coach tickets. DON'T GET CAUGHT OUT BY PURCHASING ADDITIONAL SERVICES FROM RYANAIR AS THEY ARE ALL MISLEADING, and will cause you stress and headache. AVOID AT ALL COST, OR FIND YOURSELF OUT OF POCKET!!! Igabe them an opportunity to correct their oversight potentially, but they brushed it off with no regard....

Faro to Luton

Faro to Luton
I am writing to report a distressing experience at the departures airport. I faced a technical issue with online check-in and sought help at airport assistance, as my partner and I required support.
Instead of helping, the agent was incredibly rude and dismissive. Her primary focus seemed to be forcing me to pay a £50 fee rather than addressing the system error. She became personally hostile and refused to listen to my explanation. Furthermore, she assumed I was a local who knew the layout, ignoring that I was a visitor who didn't know where the assistance desk was located.
I was eventually forced to find a different Ryanair desk just to get the information she refused to provide. The only saving grace in this situation was that they did eventually bypass the £50 fine, which I am very appreciative of, but it does not excuse the unprofessional and impolite treatment I received beforehand.

DONT FALL A VICTIM FOR THESE…

DONT FALL A VICTIM FOR THESE SCAMMERS!!!
They missed our first flight because they wanted to check our documents on counter after we booked tickets for 1500€ several days earlier. They prevented the boarding and the nonsense excuse was that Romanian residency wont let us fly from Cyprus to Germany for few days tho its from a European country to another. They let me pay extra 108€ at the airport to reschedule departure date from paphos . I tried to change both arrival and departure flight the same night which was more than 48 hrs prior departure and 1 week prior the arrival to paphos back from germany from the website it was showing error error error!!!!! I contacted support for a full clarification of the situation we were put in they didn’t give a damn they responded ridiculously continuously saying that passengers should carry the right documents and WE HADDD ITT!! I emailed them to change the dates from their side since the website isn’t allowing me I didn’t get any help and didn’t get any clarification why the boarding didn’t happen although we got the 100% assurance from the embassy that we can fly with these docs and this time wasn’t the first. In January we flew from paphos to France with these romanian documents. Lastly i was told they can’t do anything nor refund. I will go further with this case and won’t let it pass by getting robbed and scammed by these SCAMMERS!!!!!

Flights from Stansted to Valencia

Flights from Stansted to Valencia. Pleasantly surprised on the way out, although the pilot seemed to land the plane with his eyes closed! Needless to say brought back to reality with a bump on the way home.

Whole experience was completely let down by experience at Valencia Airport.

Booked a bike and two hold bags onto the flight. Getting the bike into overaized required waiting for a Ryanair member of staff and an extensive wait, despite being at the airport with plenty of time. We both had bags that fitted within the cabin bag policy (both using identical bags). However, despite bag fitting into the dimensions, boarding crew insisted one was oversized (however, the other was not?!) And that resulted in a €50 fine. The irony being the items in the bag (a bike helmet and some ceramic souvenirs were then carried on the the plan and put into the cabin whilst the (then empty) bag then had to go into the hold. Staff were rude at the gate and insisted that the only reason we had no issues at Stansted was because their staff didnt see the bags (not the case) and just continued to demand a physical card in order to pay - alternatives being miss the flight or leave the bag.

Haven't flown with Ryanair for years and wont be flying with them again. Although the flights with BA and Easyjet have previously cost more on booking, they've been without issue or hidden fees... lesson learned.

Awful Customer Service from Ryanair at Stanstead

Unfortunately, the customer service from Ryanair at Stansted is absolutely appalling. Those of us who aren’t frequent flyers and aren’t familiar with the self-check-in system are left completely in the dark. There were a few so-called customer service agents present, but they seemed more focused on their appearance than on helping passengers.

When my booking reference number wasn’t recognised by the machine, I asked several Ryanair staff for assistance, only to be met with dismissive responses like, “you should be able to figure it out yourself.” It left me wondering what exactly these staff are there for, as they offered no real support to customers, instead they talked about their nails and hair among themselves.

Who is supervising this level of service, and how is such rudeness allowed to continue?

Awful

Leaving the uk from stansted in April 2026 to faro was fine regarding check in/ bag drop off etc. flight scheduled to leave on time, as we went through departure gate…only to be left standing at plane steps for 15 minutes waiting for the flight attendants to arrive, never experienced anything like it - shameful!
Leaving faro a week later was delayed due to technical problem? But that shouldn’t effect the fact that every drink we asked for was warm, no ice available either, mind you the table would have needed a good scrub if I’d decided to use it. Ryanair was and has never been our choice but we were taken on holiday as a gift, but never again!!!

RUBBISH.

RUBBISH.
Unfortunately you can’t rate ‘zero’ stars.
Absolutely horrendous.
Zero staff other than the stewards once on the plane. No one at the airport to bag drop - all app interaction. If you don’t have the app there is zero communication re: delays. Zero customer service. Zero customer satisfaction. Zero F’s given by this airline.
I will categorically NOT book to fly with this airline ever again. Complete and utter garbage and not even ‘cheap’, just crap.

ZERO CUSTOMER SERVICE

I honestly believe they go out their way to not provide customer service, in the hope you go away!

My flight aircraft got changed and they moved my paid seat but left my friend, on same booking, in the same seat we booked! Talk about incompetence! Contacted their horrific customer service for a refund for seats, as they were not what I booked! THREE times I spoke to section X, who said it’s not them and gave me link to section Y, then everytime section Y said they can’t help, it’s section X I need to speak to!!!

As I said, I believe this was on purpose! Every department claiming it’s not them I need to speak to and when I inform them it was that department that told me to speak to them, they don’r care!

Now im trying to raise a formal complaint and I have to create a ticket, and even though I write 1500 words out of the 2000 allowed, and attach a 2 page formal complaint, they respond saying not enough Information, and close my ticket! This has now happened SIX times! Let me be clear, I’m raising a formal complaint, following the limited instructions they provide on how to do this, and they respond saying I’ve not provided enough Info - I’m not sitting an exam, I’m raising a complaint! Which they are dismissing, which is illegal.

I can’t even say this is the worst customer service I’ve experienced, as I haven’t been provided any!!!

In their defence!

Ryanair seems to be taking quite a battering in this site. It's true that they do have their moments, but when you're getting to the Canaries and back for marginally shy of £30, who can legitimately complain? Some reviewers seem out of touch with this reality. After about 300 flights with Ryanair, they've only let me down by a four hour delay on two occasions and that cost them a lot, not me. They've never cancelled, which has not been true of Easyjet.
O' Leary is a wise and shrewd operator from whom other airlines would be well advised to learn!

The worst service ever

The worst service ever, I ended up paying 3 times the cost of the ticket because of the luggage size (10kg). The quality of the plain is shit compared to the prices they are charging for your luggage. Please do not buy any tickets with this company, pay a bit more on another one and avoid any surprises when boarding your flight, at the end it will be even cheaper than flying with these scammers.

OUt of 30000 review only 6% 5 star and…

Out of 30000 reviews only 6% 5 star and those are also full with grammar mistakes. I fly with Ryanair for decades, I spent enough money to expect that when I make a mistake they would help with a goodwill refund or flight credit. Like Amazon or any other huge organisation does because this is the rigth thing to do. But no, their customer service reject everything with different reasons, not sure are these people hateful and mean because they work for Ryanair, or is Ryanair so mean and hateful because it's being operated by mean and hateful people. Either way. When I think of Ireland, I associate it now with Ryanair and man, there is not much to be soooo proud of. You guys probably got what you deserved and you just prove it time and time again there in Ryanair. You want to be a proud Irish? Fix Ryanair.

We were denied boarding even though we…

We were denied boarding even though we had valid tickets. The staff told us we couldn’t board because we didn’t have priority and had 10 kg of hand luggage. We were willing to pay extra on the spot, but they refused, saying the gate was already closed.

The plane was still right in front of us, and it was clear we could have boarded. We were visibly upset, crying and in shock, asking for any solution, even offering to pay more, but they showed no understanding or flexibility.

A group of about five staff members at Lisbon Airport physically blocked us from going through. We felt treated in a very inhumane and disrespectful way.

This was an extremely disappointing and upsetting experience. We had valid tickets and were still refused boarding under these circumstances. I would strongly advise others to think twice before flying with this airline.

Never fly this airline again , I would rather walk

My husband and I booked a ticket from Bari Italy to Venice. We checked in one bag each which we paid the upgrade for on our booking but they charges for four bags. I worked with a Ryan Air chat and after giving them all the information and telling them that i have the two baggage check receipts and that 4 bags being charged was a mistake on their part they said they could not refund the $59.40 overcharge. The flight was late the plane was cramped even though I paid for better seats. I am in the airline industry and this was the first and last time I would fly this low end, inconsiderate and cracker box airline. If the service is this bad because they cheap everything out then how is the safety.
