The facts are:
The fish is inedible.
It was ordered for a family new years day lunch.
We did not have time to sample this alternative brand but agreed to receive it as an alternative on YOUR recommendation as you said you had good feedback for this product.
It is fortunate that we decided to try a tray before we served it for the lunch to our guests as it would have been very embarrassing and we would not have had an alternative meal to offer them at such short notice on a bank holiday!
Not only was it broken up into bits (not in a fit condition to serve as a course whilst entertaining) but the taste is awful. It is not a question of individual taste, no one would agree this is how gefiltre fish should taste. As previously stated it tastes as sweet as a dessert, not a savory main course dinner dish. We persevered with the tray we tried but honestly only managed three mouthfuls, that's how bad it tastes.
Far from you suggesting it should be on our conscience that we left an honest review, more to the point you should be concerned that you have sent out such a bad product and now expect us to withdraw what is only the truth. Customers need to be aware that you are not concerned that one of your customers is so unhappy with your product which you yourself recommended to us.
Maybe you should taste it yourself.
It would also be a better idea to list a working email for yourselves, not just a 600 maximum word contact box so a customer can advise you of any problems with your products.
We did not leave the review without giving you the opportunity to make the situation right.
It is a total insult to expect us to receive this situation willingly and just throw away our order, it is unusable.
We did not have an alternative for a special family holiday lunch, it was a total inconvenience to us and now you expect us to just mark it down to experience and place another order at 15% discount plus additionally just throw out a product at our cost that you should be concerned is so unacceptable to your customer.
We did not complain just for the sake of it. To retain a five star average rating you need to be very concerned when a customer is obviously so disappointed with their order to the extent they cannot use it.
Perhaps it's a rogue batch and the manufacturers have made a mistake with the ingredients, we do not know, it is still in our freezer but is totally unusable and feel that as a proprietor you should feel you need to investigate this further not just be concerned about your 5 star rating being effected and in all fairness offer a refund.
