Had a pump fitted in January 2022, went wrong May 2022 4 months later, replaced under warranty. Lasted two years until July 2024, a record for us!! we were told needed to upgrade so paid extra to do so(they did renew warranty from this point for 5 years from this date). Since then we have had the pump replaced, May 2025, November 2025 and are now about to have another replacement fitted. Each time we have been advised to have extra work done by a service engineer that Salamander have sent out to us to check the pump. Each time we have done the work at our cost. The pump has been replaced for free under warranty, but we have had enough, they will not give us our money back, obviously the Pump not for for purpose!!!
After having to pay for many repairs that our own Plumbers have said were not necessary, and not the cause of the pump failing, and the inconvenience of a pump not working on several occasions, your comment regarding our review of "very sorry" does not help at all !!! just adds to our frustration. Will be taking this matter further. At the least compensation should be forthcoming

One of my good customers Purchased a Salamander universal pump to run his bathroom and shower, the customer was suffering from a delayed action when opening taps, he rang Salamander to ask if they could send an engineer as another lead brand companies engineer had been there to look at his bath filler system which had a sticking on off button.
The engineer told the customer to contact the pump manufacturer to get a engineer only to be told that they do not have any in the area and to contact the installer to check the filters and also the pressure vessel charge.
I attended the property and checked the filters which were clean and then decided to ring Salamander to get the correct pre charge pressure and spoke to a customer service agent to whom I explained that I had been called to the property as they had told the customer to ask me to do the checks, she then asked if i would like to charge the costs to them and I said I would sort it with the customer as he had purchased the shower pump, I corrected the expansion vessel pressure which was down to 0.8 bar and it should have been 1.9 bar leaving the customer happy and asked him to contact Salamander to reclaim the labour charge that I charged for repairing the pump issue.
The customer then contacted Salamander and received by email that they do not pay for warranty work on there pumps as it is classed as maintanence even though the pump has not been correct since new.
So basically left the customer to sort it themselves.
It doesnt seem correct for one minute that you can expect other engineers to cover your guarantee work ??? on your products , my company will never ever fit a salamander pump again as the after service as not up to the mark they should have there own team to cover guarantee problems and not rely on the installers without absorbing the callout fee , I would use another top pump company that also beings with S!
From my initial phone call Susan Haley was outstanding. She took time to fully explained my options and how things would progress.
The guys who completed the work were also 1st class.
Susan has an exceptional telephone manner, and takes time to listen. She kept me fully informed via email and quickly arranged my refund.
My entire experience with Salamander has been faultless. I credit this to Susan who has exceptional customer service skills which I feel she needs to be recognised for.
Well done Susan and the Salamander team.
Kind regards

We had a shower pump fitted a month ago and when it stopped working were left high and dry by the installer no receipt or response from him. Not expecting to get anywhere with a warranty claim as no receipt. Got through to Heather in customer services.
She was extremely helpful and after a few questions and proof of installation pictures is getting a new pump sent out with no quibbles. It hasnt arrived as yet but just wanted to give praise where praise is due thankyou again Heather

I live in a modern 2 bed terrace house with poor 1.5 bar pressure measured at the outside tap. This produced lacklustre performance from the upstairs bathroom tap and shower by way of the combi boiler. After researching the best solution to achieve a greater water throughput to the bathroom shower and basin I decided the Salamander HomeBoost Pump had good reviews, had a good spec and was the one to purchase. I chose a reliable and trusted plumber to do a quality install under the kitchen sink. After carefully following the install procedure before switch on I can report that the increase in flow has increased significantly and can now shower under a full and more forceful head of water. You can hear the pump kick in as soon as a tap is opened (or the toilet flushed) and although it is not silent it is not obtrusive. The pump is sturdily made with quality fittings and is guaranteed for 3 years although I am expecting to get at least 10 years of trouble free service. Shop around for the best price and you will save lots. Full recommendation.

I purchased a salamander shower pump ct60 b from Screwfix just 2 years
Ago just under £200. The pump stopped working yesterday. I checked electric supply and checked the filters all was correct there. I phoned salamander help line. Who first of all told me I had the pump 3 years which was interesting as I only owned the property 2 years. I was advised that I would need to supply photos of the fitting of the shower pump and proof of water flo. Its seems everything was put there to put you of from trying to claim on the warranty. Because if your shower stops there and then you need it sorted straight away if you got children you need a shower running. I just new I would get know where with this so I had to go and buy another shower pump from Screwfix same brand as the plumber had already fitted everything so it would be a straight stopover. Screwfix Clacton informed me if you buy a salamander pump now it can be exchanged up to 3 months only after that they would need to send someone out to look at it.
I registered the new pump and I did make a complaint but that went no where. If this new pump breaks down I certainly wouldn't use this brand of pump again. I think I would try and find a cheaper brand that fits the connections or call a plumber back in to change them over. I thought I was buying a quality product but it certainly isn't that and when you try to sort the problem it seems you need to supply photos water flow and even then guy said to me the water flow alters all the time. It's a case of you bought it and that's it.
I just wanted to put this on line, because if your a family like myself living on minimum wage. Every penny counts so to buy the pump in the first and have it fitted was a big expense. But to have to replace it with in 2 years I wished I had gone for a cheaper brand that properly would have lasted either the same time or longer and hopefully better after sale service.
I'm quite sure Salamander will leave a reply to this using many nice excuses or saying we offered to sort it out for you. They said they listened to the phone call and everything was done right. But they didn't comment on how they seemed to put you of, even when I asked if I could send it back to repair or service so it could at least be a back up as there pumps don't last long. I was told they would just throw it in the bin. A bit like my money I spent, thank you salamander for nothing
In Answer to your reply, 1 your agent told me it was 3 years old at the end of its warranty, maybe when you listen to the phone call you might like to alter your comment, I don't trust your company anymore after dealing with them and regret I had to replace this pump with another one from your company. I certainly want be using Salamander again and certainly want be recommending your company instead I make sure everyone knows what they are getting into when buying a product from yourselves. Terrible pump terrible after service.

I've had to call Salamander several times over the years with regard to issues I've had with pumps and plumbing, and I've always found their staff to be excellent - knowledgable, patient and friendly. On this occasion I dealt with Susan Haley, who was absolutely fantastic in sorting my problem and arranging for a new pump to be delivered under warranty. Excellent all round.

When you contact support about technical issues they concentrate on finding the slightest thing to say there is an issue with the installation so unfortunately cant send out a replacement pump. My pump has been working fine for 3 years but no long holding charge in the charge vessel so wont turn off and makes loud noise - apparently this is down to locating in the wrong position. Funny its taken 3 years to cause a problem. Go with a manufacturer who actually honours their 5 year warranty. Will never use Salamander again.

I had a new pump fitted as a complete shower installation and after only 18 months the pump a CT50+EXTRA (guaranteed for 3 years) failed. I had it checked by a qualified plumber who confirmed the pump had simply failed as all things mechanical are eventually prone to do. That wasn't sufficient for the 'Customer Support' team who after taking a week to reply then insisted upon all manner of water pressure checks, water flow rates, temperature checks, photos provided of the full system installation (which was provided to them) and they were then insistent that it needed to be inspected by one of their engineers attending my home for a charge of £100+; this after already paying a plumber £80 to attend and confirm with diagnostic equipment (and conduct their demanded water tests) that the pump had simply failed. Read any reviews and this model is hardly 'reliable' with a high reported failure rate within its guarantee. Bottom line, it simply wasn't worth the time and stress to jump through all the hoops Salamander set (and for a £160 pump) and so simply gave up which I suspect, is the purpose of the whole exercise. The new pump works perfectly which vindicated fully the original technical finding -i.e the pump had failed mechanically and no amount of 'water testing' or their 'engineer examinations' would change that. I will never buy another Salamander pump again and good luck when yours eventually goes wrong and you simply try and claim on the warranty. Pump (for the price paid) 3 Stars, Salamander Customer support/service - 0 STARS.
