Came to saltmarshe hall the day after our wedding with our family and I have never come across ruder staff from the second we walked through the door. I was interrupted asking if we could have lunch together before checking in with “you can’t check in yet”, we were then shown to the library where a gentleman came in to tell us they couldn’t offer us anything to eat apart from beef sandwiches because the people in the restaurant were being served Sunday lunch. 15 minutes later we were offered pork - they had no beef left. White bread with a slice of pork - mostly fat.
Rude waiter and bar staff serving half drinks because “that’s how much he made” of my cocktail.
Serious dampener after the happiest day of our lives. Not impressed and don’t recommend.

Wonderful experience form arriving to leaving. Bed room was beautiful spotlessly clean with luxury toiletries from L’occitain
Had a fantastic evening meal that was beautifully presented compliments to the chef with wonderful silver service waitressing well stocked bar who made us lovely drinks and a very comfortable bed had a wonderful night sleep and delicious breakfast. Stayed for 2 nights and didn’t want to leave was well and truly looked after. Will return more often 🤩

Beautiful building and gardens, sumptuous room (Saltmarshe Suite), great full English breakfast. Our stay was on a 'Red Letter Days' deal that included a 3 course dinner with fizz & breakfast. I Really didn't want to write a negative review so please take the following as observations, not criticism. Understaffing meant that there was only one person trying really hard on her own, checking us in, serving from the bar and serving dinner. We felt a little let down by the lack of service overall. Food in restaurant wasn't great (couldn't eat my Barnsley Chop) I think the chef was either very bored or just tried too hard. Please, turn the music level down, it's not a roll call and should be incidental not intrusive. An older (rather brittle) waitress/receptionist appeared in the morning over breakfast and appeared quite unwelcoming and disinterested, dressed scruffy and never made eye contact whilst checking us out. A fond farewell and 'see you again' might have been nice. Never got the glass of 'fizz' either and it was my birthday after all. Recommended? Yes, if they can address the above. Would we return? Ditto. Value for money? Adequately priced.

Our wedding was the most perfect day! A lot of our guests complimented the house, surroundings and food! The team worked so hard to make our day great and we are so grateful for them! The bridal suite is obviously gorgeous but all the rooms are beautifully decorated with a traditional but modern twist! We will of course be recommending Saltmarshe Hall! Thank you so much to the whole team for making our day amazing!

As a wedding photographer, I have had the pleasure of capturing a beautiful wedding at the Hall and I can honestly say it was a truly unforgettable experience.
The Hall is a stunning venue, with acres of beautiful grounds that offer endless options for a unique and personal outdoor ceremony. My clients were able to exchange their vows in a serene woodland setting surrounded by nature, and the results were simply stunning. The natural light, combined with the gorgeous greenery, made for some truly breathtaking images.
I was also impressed by the Hall's commitment to making each wedding special and unique. They only hold one wedding per day, so the couple has the Hall completely to themselves. The team is dedicated to listening to what each couple wants, and they don't enforce any off the shelf packages. This allows for the couple's creative input to flourish and the day to be tailored to their personal wishes.
The reception rooms inside the Hall are also licensed for ceremonies, making it a versatile venue for any kind of celebration. There truly is a room for every occasion and my clients were able to choose the perfect space for their big day.
Overall, I would highly recommend the Hall as a wedding venue to anyone looking for a stunning setting, personalized experience, and dedicated team. It's no wonder my clients were over the moon with their wedding day, and I was thrilled to be a part of it all.
