Bad rice

I found the food and service pretty good but both times I've been I've asked for mushroom rice. Both times they brought a boiled rice with tiny bits of mushroom thrown in. Almost inedible. I am not a cook but even I know it should be served with pilau rice + herbs!!

It augured well with polite servers but the food was terrible

I visited Sanjha in Shirley with my my married friends. We went late and we hadn't booked. The serving people were very friendly and that augured well. The Poppadoms were nice and came with three dips, Mango, Onion and a Raita dish of which the mango was very nice but the yoghurt based one was tasteless. I ordered Lahori Kadhai Lamb and a Keema naan. The Lamb was billed as a 3 chilli rating but was uncomfortably hotter than expected and flavourless. The Naan was extremely bland and tasteless as was the Mushroom rice which came unsalted . I was very hungry but only ate half of my food. As the servers were polite and friendly I paid up with a small tip but I won't ever go back. The Decor is also extremely over the top, a cement and stone wall...I'm not sure what they were trying to achieve but it's as tasteless and horrible as the food. Of the three of us, only one who had a vegetarian option, enjoyed the meal.

Terrible !!

Terrible !!! I’ve been going here since it opened and was very impressed as Punjabi woman to have such good food… however they recently started delivering to me, the first time in July good food freshly cooked superb. Last Friday terrible. We spent £153 on a takeaway for an Indian celebration ! We’d been working all day in town and ordered in…. Both sets of daal were off and smelly as was the saag and chicken!!! The tandoori roti was stale crispy and days old just reheated and given to us, prothas burnt and the poppodoms stale. They thought that £7.99 back from uber would cut it. It won’t coz I ended up with food poisoning from the chicken dish we ended up throwing all the food away!!! I am reporting to the council and food standards agency they should never be allowed to serve food like this. When I complained immediately they said no one else complained I said do you really think some western people will know the daal is off ? Someone who is Indian and cooks Indian food will know immediately!!! The tandoori roti maybe ? How insulting they then tried to blame the Uber driver LOL he didn’t take days for deliver. Disgusting people and business . AVOID looking forward to council visiting them, we took photos of the food and have several witnesses.

A fantastic evening spent eating at Sanhja in Camberley.

The Fish Tikka and Prawn Puri were some of the best I’ve ever had.

A vibrant restaurant with a feel good vibe.

Barak and Sonia were extremely hospitable. Thank you!

I am surprised at negative reciews…

I am surprised at the negative reciews for Sanjha restaurant in CAMBERLEY. I’ve visited quite a few Indian restaurants in my time and have eaten more curry than you can shake a stick at. I’ve eaten at Sanjha on four occasions and each time I’ve found the food to be superb and plentiful. Ok, it’s not cheap, but nor is it overpriced for the quality and quantity. The service is sometimes a little slow but staff are always polite and the restaurant is nearly always busy. Many Indian families dine there, which must say something for food authenticity. It is definitely my favourite Indian restaurant and I recommend it. I can’t imagine where the negative contributors eat but they must be galactically good restaurants if they’re better than Sanjha; please name them so I can try them for myself!

Disappointed

We went for a family dinner on Saturday night at 7pm. The restaurant service and ambience was good, hence the 1 star. However, the food, to say the least, was disappointing with extortionate prices. The kofta in malai kofta was rock hard, as if defrosted from frozen. The sauce was watery. The rajma in the dal makhani was undercooked. The papdi in the chaat tasted like bought from local store. The portion sizes were very tiny compared to the price. Very disappointed. Won't be visiting again.

Discrimination and below average food

We went for Dinner at Sanjha restaurant, Camberley at 6 PM on 6th Jan 2023 (pre-booked) and the restaurant was empty except for 3 tables (3 Indian and one British)
Next two Indian families were forced to sit right next to two other Indian families next to the door by the Manager leaving WHOLE restaurant empty with excuse that "We have huge party tonight".
Shameful to see that same person let the white people (all individual families) sit in the main area.
So shameful.
Food was below average and within 30 minutes of serving they started pushing the families by asking for dessert and then promptly giving bills.
Not sure we will be visiting again

Good food nice restaurant

Good food nice restaurant. The only massive disappointment was we had a party of 11 and they charged us £33 for poppadoms which we thought was scandalous. Only indian restaurant I've ever been to that's charged for them.

Rubbish

Rubbish. Family gathering at Camberley restaurant. Had to wait over one and half hours for order to arrive. They spend all their time doing takeaway orders. The food quality was no better than a microwave pre-cooked from Tesco, and about 5 time more expensive.
