Whilst the Saphe speed camera detector…
Whilst the Saphe speed camera detector has been somewhat beneficial. I have found on many occasions that the current speed limit for the road you’re travelling on to be incorrect. Showing the road as a 30mph when it’s a 20mph and 50mph when actually a 40 mph. As a driving instructor I always teach pupils that it is their responsibility to know the speed limit of the road you’re on for this reason. Also it would not be a defence of a speeding ticket so always stay aware of the current speed limits technology unfortunately is not 100% reliable

I love this thing
I love this thing. Very easy to set up and connects to my phone very quickly. Shows all the information I need. Small enough to not get in the way and the battery seems to just go on and on.
-UPDATE- 15/12/24
After using it for a while the only thing it lacks is an easy way of alerting Saphe of wrong speed limits. I have at least two roads that show as wrong every time I use them

You have to have a subscription for this device to work it’s £30 for the year. You must also have the app on your phone. Once paired to this device it will auto-connect when you get in the car.
The Saphe pro is amazing. This was just what I wanted for displaying current speed and speed limits. It does much more by reporting traffic accidents and alerting you to speed cameras etc. You can report these yourself also by pressing the side buttons corresponding to warnings or cameras, by doing this it shares the information with all other Saphe users. I am very pleased I decided to go with this device.

This product is VERY glitchy.
This product is VERY glitchy.
Firstly the driving speed lags quite badly, then it will lose connection with your phone or GPS so will not alert you of the road’s speed limit. And then it will freeze! Rendering it useless.
In theory it would be a good little piece of kit but this unit still needs a lot of work to ensure that it is doing what it should be doing.
Used for one week and connected to an iPhone 14. Have now cancelled subscription.

Fantastic little product
Fantastic little product, [PRO] its advantages over Waze integration in the car is to be trialled, but as a companion system it's useful, especially for when 'others' with incompatible devices use the car and need the safety. Though I always seem to send a traffic report from my driveway when I try to turn the device off!

The good and the could be better

What could be better- the tone is the same for speed limit as it is for a camera warning, a flashing camera icon would attract attention more, ditto a different tone- you may be able to change this in the app.
Connecting to the App wasn’t as straight forward as it could be.
Finally the unit keeps shutting down and rebooting, usually when you need it the most, near speed cameras, or avg speed cameras.

Decent little gadget but connection requirements are a flaw
Decent little gadget, Notifies of speed limit charges aswell as cameras and the distance away. One issue I have is it requires connection to a phone by Bluetooth with location and internet connection and as I don't have location enabled unless I need to use it so unless I am following navigation unfortunately it's no use.
