My advice, cancel your subscription as soon as you take it out, you still get the year you pay for, but you decide to renew or not

Although the device for the most part works well, there's no way to update if a speed limit is incorrect, which it frequently is in road works. It also seems to think traffic is gridlocked on my quiet village street, when in fact there's no traffic at all! But the reason for the one star is the subscriptions. Like another user has said, I had the year and did not want to renew. I tried to get into the app to cancel, but it would not let me in. Following day I get an email stating they have taken money from me for the next years subscription, and would you believe it, now the app shows me that, and the cancel button. Contacted support only to be fobbed off with its in the terms that there will be no prior warning of it renewing. This is a disgusting way to work and process renewals, every other company I deal with has the courtesy to inform you a month or so before the due date.
I will be contacting my card issuer to demand my money back.

They make it hard to cancel the subscription

After having the subscription for a year, I decided I wanted to cancel it, but to my surprise, there was absolutely no way to cancel your subscription, not on the app, not on the website - even on the website where you have the section with guides and frequently asked questions, there is no section that will guide you on how to cancel your subscription. It's so so easy to open a subscription, but the only way to cancel one is to contact the support, which in my opinion is a very bad business practice!

The will bother you with notifications…

They will bother you with notifications constantly, i mean many times a day.
They want to track you all the time. If you only allow tracking when using the app Saphne will bother the shit out of you.
They have NO respect for your privacy.
Update: Saphne notifications CAN NOT be turned off.
Saphnes answer is WRONG
Update. Saphne does NOT relate to the review i made.
IF I AM NOT USING YOUR APP/DEVICE I DONT WANT TO ALLOW YOU TRACKING ME IF I DONT ALLOW “ALL THE TIME TRACKING” YOU SHOWER ME WITH NON STOP NOTIFIKATIONS.

🚨 Saphe – from smart gadget to expensive scam 🚨

I bought a Saphe One some years ago because it was a simple product with no hidden or ongoing costs. One-time purchase – done. That was exactly why I chose Saphe over other options.

But now Saphe has changed the rules of the game. Suddenly, my device ONLY works if I buy a Saphe Pro subscription for 300 DKK/year. Without it, my fully functional device is reduced to nothing more than useless plastic.

This is not innovation – this is a scam.
It’s taking customers hostage and changing the terms after we’ve already bought the product.

Had I known Saphe would force a subscription on us, I would never have become a customer.

I honestly cannot understand how this can even be legal – and I can only warn others to think twice before you decide if Saphe is the right product for you.

I’ve just learned that Saphe offers “old costumers” 12 months free subscription… And so what! What am I gonna do after 12 months? The fair approach is to grant free access to pro until you replace the product. The 12 months free offer seems more like an attempt to shut up old customers and hope they’ve forgotten all about it 12 months later. To me it’s a very good indicator of how much Saphe cares for their customers.. 12 months!

I understand that you bought a Saphe One a few years ago and now believe it only works with our Saphe Premium subscription, but that’s not the case.

Saphe One still works without a subscription. Only our Saphe Drive Pro requires a subscription to connect and provide alerts.

We also don’t offer 12 months of free subscription for existing customers. However, we do have a Starter Pack, which includes a Saphe Drive Pro and 12 months of subscription for one total price. Perhaps that’s what you’re thinking of?

I’m sorry to hear that you feel it’s a scam, but I can assure you that’s not the case. We work hard to deliver a great product and an excellent customer experience.

Well I can’t find fault with my Saphe…

Well I can’t find fault with my Saphe experience.
I bought a Saphe Drive Pro recently and I am surprised they have packed so much into such a small device and considering it could save your license and at worst, your life for under £60 that’s a bargain.
I fitted mine close to the drivers position on my Audi A4 but although the Drive Pro was pretty accurate with speed it’s the warnings I was most excited about.
The device has a built in speaker but obviously with its such diminutive size it only has so much volume however there is a connection via Bluetooth to your car’s sound system but for the life of me I couldn’t get the notifications to send the signal via my iPhone to the Audi MMI so I sent an email to Saphe and a wonderful lady called Anne found all the correct settings for me and emailed it over and it works an absolute treat now.
So remember if you have issues with your Saphe device their customer service is one of the best especially Anne!

Saphe Mini subscription …

When I purchased Saphe Mini it was subscription free, now it has stopped advising speed cameras and I have to purchase a subscription! It is of no use to me whatsoever, not when speed alerts are free in Waze and Google. My Mini has now been despatched to the trashcan where it belongs.
Even when it was working it didn't always detect a fixed camera.
Now not worth purchasing.
