Horrible Customer Support

I recently purchased the Schiit Midgard headphone amplifier, and unfortunately, my experience has been incredibly disappointing. Here’s why:

1. Horrible Customer Support:
My experience with Schiit EU has been the worst in my life. The customer service was slow, unhelpful, and completely unprofessional.

2. Faulty Products from the Start:
The first Midgard I received had ground noise issues whenever I touched the volume button. The second unit had distortion after the 13 o'clock position on the volume knob. They sent me a new board, but the next day, while doing an A/B test with my Mojo 2, the device exploded, and smoke came out.

3. Unacceptable Response:
I encountered problems from day one, yet Schiit refused to refund me. They claimed the second board had liquid damage and that the exploded board was functioning "normally." When I requested proof of the issue, they sent a vague photo without the serial number, likely because they knew I had photos of the boards with the serial numbers included.

4. Frustrating Delays and Extra Costs:
The entire ordeal was prolonged by holidays in the Netherlands, which left me waiting for almost two months. On top of that, I had to pay 40 euros each time I sent the device back.

5. Lost Faith in Schiit Products:
I’ve previously owned the Asgard with DAC module, Modi+, and now the Midgard, but after this experience, I doubt I’ll ever buy a Schiit device again.

I have proof—videos and photos—of all the issues I’ve encountered. Overall, this has been a terrible experience, and I strongly advise against purchasing the Midgard or dealing with Schiit EU.

Miserable customer service for Europe

Unfortunately the great company has a miserable European distributor with the worst customer service that I have ever experienced: unfriendly personnel @ Sonority Audio does not answer my question, sends me a product with the wrong power plug not suitable for Germany (adapter required), defines the most restrictive return policy ever and does not maintain its website product information up to date.
I do hope that Schiit finds a better distributor for Europe soon - the great products deserve it!

They responded to your emails, but that is the only good thing.

They responded to emails, all though not very fast. I had a faulty DAC/AMP unit that I told them about the very same day I picked the package up. I tested with three different computers with completely different hardware setups and cables. It had issues on all of them. I made several emails trying to help them help me to find a solution.

In the end I return it. They claim there is nothing wrong, and does not pay for shipping to or from me. They do not provide a prepaid return label, neither did they offer me to buy one from them, which is much cheaper than trying to buy one as a consumer from the shipping companies.

So either they think I lie about the issues, since day 0 instead of just cancelling the order if I changed my mind or spent hours forging emails just to save on the shipping. Or they expect me as a customer to know which system it does not work on with they having zero facts about this themselves, instead of them taking the responsibility for the device not working with my systems.

Customer support was rather "snarky", with claims such as "has never happened before" and "obviously" in context that no costumer support should utter if they want to seem professional, and other patronizing things in general.

Oh and I guess they refunded my order partly since I did return it within 14 days, so at least they are honoring basic consumer laws.

Avoid Schiit Europe

The company is very friendly in US with customers.
Unfortunately, not the same for Europe. The distribution company here, Sonority, has the worst practices with clients:
-Pay for transport and doesn't come very fast
-Pay for returns even if the product has a defect
-Attitude towards client (it is your fault..., or, yes the product makes noise but that is ok)
-Not very proactive when hinting for warranty
I will buy from now on from JDS labs to avoid this problems here in Europe.

super communication, Melinda is friendly answer mail, complete team helped me with technical questions , even late in the evening . normally i never place reviews, but they deserve it.

ow my schiit stack is playing fantastic.

I have purchased two items so far and…

I have purchased two items so far and the delivery has been really quick. Customer service has also been fast and reliable, as they helped me with a question I had, and resolved it quickly.
Great service: would buy here again in the future.

Fantastic reliable service

I have dealt with Mark at Schiit EU and also Electromod for the past month with a number of purchases and the standard of customer service, the quality and speed of the product and the overall experience has been fantastic.

A very trusted website / company.
