Avoid

Scotia arrived 27.05.26 to complete remedial works through our builder Bellway homes a snag reported in 2023.
We had two panes of glass to be replaced as they were registered faulty in 2023
Bedroom pane was replaced with a faulty pane which now leaves us with having to wait yet again for another pane to be produced. How a damaged pane got through quality control checks and was not noticed prior to fitting is beyond me . It will be 1-2 weeks for another pane to be provided. It had clear scratches and damages to it
pane replacement within the living room , glass had black material within the frame , young lad fitting it says there’s a black bit there but just punch the window and it’ll eventually move down the glass! He punched the window to demonstrate and black material did fall down but surely this should not have left the factory like this either.
Not only that the pane replacement has now caused the windows not to open or close as they were prior to them attending.
They left site without checking the window was functional after their installation and have now advised they cannot return for 6 days.

Avoid this company and any home…

Avoid this company and any home builders who use them. Their brochure and website boast that their products come with a 10-year guarantee, but when you ask them to fix or replace something within this period, you are advised that the guarantee is only 2 years or 5 years, depending on how long you've had the window or doors, so they can avoid accountability. The claim is that the 10-year guarantee for new build homes only applies to the home builder and this isn't transferred to the home buyer when they purchase the new build property.

Poor Customer service

I have been trying to contact this company for a few days, have left phone messages, sent emails but no response to replace a misted DG unit on our Patio doors supplied by Scotia.

Poor customer service for a ISO 9001registered company.

Wouldn't recommend scotia

Wouldn't recommend scotia. I had windows fitted 7 years ago had 10 Yr guarantee. Windows were leaking somewhere caused damage to internal wood. They came out silicone outside. Said they would send joiner to fix internals he came said windows had to be removed to fix prob as they weren't fitted properly. After messing me around for 6 months they decided internals were not covered in guarantee even though they fitted them .I am totally disappointed with them.As far as I know they only do new builds now so they are not intrested but I was a customer and so was my mum.I was in contact with Martin Smith Director he didn't respond to my last email .

Worst company ever. Avoid!

Only giving one star as there is no option for none. Paid deposit for Windows and patio doors for full house on 5th August and was told I would have my survey done within 2-3 weeks and windows installed at the start of November at the latest.

As of today 27th October I have had no survey carried out and absolutely no contact from the company. When o try to call them I'm told my information will be passed to the relevant team and someone will call me back which they never do!

This is the worst company I have dealt with and the total lack of communication with paying customers is ridiculous.

Tried calling the sales rep who had initially came to my home and promised the earth only to be told that he no longer works for the company as he was getting hassle from customers going through the sane experience as myself and can't help me.

I am now sitting substantially out of pocket and no idea if or when I will receive a phone call or email never mind the windows and doors I've ordered!

Would highly recommend looking elsewhere if you're considering getting new windows.

After sales service is rubbish.

Phoned Scotia Kilmarnock branch today not very helpful. Got soffits and facias and gutter replacement done on 2004. One of my soffit air vents had fallen out. Asked how much it would cost to get a replacement fitted was told they don't do my make of soffit anymore. And i would have to go to my local diy store to see if i could buy it there. Not got a ladder to get size so how will i know what size to get. Stay clear from this company just like to take your money when you get things done. Not a very good after sales service surely they can get soffit air vent and give me a price. Used this company twice to get work done will not use again. Advice stay clear from this company and go elsewhere.

It's a minefield out there.

It's a minefield out there when replacing your double glazing, your bombarded with:- so many advertisements buy one get one free etc. or they start with a telephone number and by the time they have given you all the discounts a phone call to their manager not only have they drained every bit of energy out of you and your wife, you just sign up just to get the rep. out of your house, not so with Scotia from my initial phone call to Mark McLean the Technical Sales Manager at the Alloa office till the fitters drove off the whole experience was painless and stress free, I feel it's incumbent on me to let you know why I chose Scotia.

I replaced 7 windows a front and back door; the rep arrived on time gave brief scenario about the Company he was most informative about the products at no time did we feel pressured answered all my questions even the ones that may not have seemed relevant, he left us details of of the windows and doors that included specifications, a price which included fitting and the reassurance of a 10 year insurance backed warranty.

We asked was it possible for the rep to come back as we wished to talk over a few points this was not a problem for him, we were so delighted with everything we had no hesitation in getting Scotia to replace our widows and doors.

A few days later the architect came took detailed measurements went over in all aspects of the order ensuring we understood everything.

About a month later 2 fitters arrived with my windows and doors, it immediately became clear that they knew what they were doing not only did they make sure that my flooring were protected they even put dust sheets over my settee and other furnishings, and then they started, not like some who have to have start off with a tea break, the whole job was done within two days and I was taken round all the windows and doors and shown that they were functional (they even brought their own vacuum cleaner)

I feel a special thanks should be given to Ryan Internorm's Project Manager for keeping us in the loop as to the progress of our order, finally I would have no hesitation in recommending Scotia a top class Scottish Company.

Had used scotia for our conservatory …

Had used scotia for our conservatory and recently new front and back door. Front door install was poor and wouldn't close properly needed whole new lock fitted after a few weeks . However on conservatory the french door stopped locking and found out were a just out of warranty so wouldn't support us. referred us o other repair companies both of which are far away from is . so basically left without a locking conservatory even though spent a good deal of money with them. Pretty bad attitude from service dept and sales manager when i explained our predicament and not interested at all even though we were about to get the rest of the DG replaced. Talked about there business " Model" was not to support customers after warranty period. . I think probably best avoided in future

Good Service

Reviewing for elderly Mum - she had a door fitted 7 years ago and developed a small fault with it. They came out no hassle and repaired it under the guarantee. From this positive experience she decided to book them to install a new window and other door. This was done as arranged to a good standard and she was happy how clean and tidy they were. All to a competitive price. Even when she spotted a minor detail on a piece of sealant, they again came no Qs asked to fix it. Great service - would recommend.
