My husband & I saw the sofa on TV. I came into store to have a look & was greeted by Vanessa. I explained what were were looking at & she knew exactly which one I was talking about. I had said where the sofa was going & was pleased that Vanessa knew which way the sofa would go, as in left hand, right hand. I found her very helpful, knowledgable & she even emailed a picture of what our sofa would look like so that I could show my husband.

The staff at the Castle Vale branch are very polite and friendly, I felt relaxed when I was having a look around, I decided on a certain sofa and I was advised on all the sizes available, therfore allowing me to go home and check the room size.
I went back the next day and ordered my new sofa and armchair.

What a wonderful store! The range of furniture on show is fabulous and when you find something you like there are often several options on colour/material -it feels like you can have pretty much what you want! The staff are very helpful and I strongly advise you to speak to them so you don’t miss out on the suite of your dreams! I highly recommend this store and the one in Cannock as I went to that one too.

I come to the store after receiving a sofa I absolutely hated from another company. I was greeted by Vanessa and what a woman she was, she gave all options, had lots of time for me and my family and helped me choose the perfect sofa. No pushing for a sale just lots of knowledge and time. From start to finish was an amazing experience and she is definitly a credit to the store. Thank you very much Vanessa. Failure to communicate and lack of online or other alternative payment method after ‘unique’ issue with credit card - despite promises to arrange a different payment method - AVOID.
Make sure to check the other 1 & 2 star reviews to prepare for disappointment.

S0069-1000439612 - SCS Castle Vale Branch

Repeated attempts to settle the outstanding balance via phone call to the branch failed - ‘our staff is unable to come to the phone right now’.

When finally getting through to SCS to pay the outstanding balance I was informed that there was only a ‘partial verification’ of my credit card and the payment could not proceed.

This is never happened before with any card I have ever used in the last 25 years.
The balance on the card was more than sufficient to pay off the outstanding payment.

I was informed that it would not be possible to use other cards or payment methods.
Bank transfers are also not possible.

I thoroughly searched the website for online payment methods - in vain, no online payment whatsoever. This was confirmed by the member of staff I spoke to.

Initially a member of staff told us that we would need to come in to make the payment in person.
In this day and age this is completely unacceptable to expect a customer to travel more than 45 minutes via public transport to the store

After making it very clear that this was not acceptable the staff member confirmed that they would contact the account apartment for a
secure email link for payment will be sent.

Of course no email with payment details or secure link ever materialised.

The member of staff also confirmed that they would get back to my wife or myself on the telephone.
My wife and myself had a single missed call on the following day without any accompanying message and no further attempts to contact us.

It appears that the inability or lack of interest from SCS to allow other payment methods will result in the cancellation of the delivery.
If this is the case - I see no other option apart from taking this to the Ombudsman.

The website does not give details of the complaints procedure & the contact form is not designed to deal with payment issues.
