We stopped by on our way home

We stopped by on our way home, we had popped in at lunchtime. We were served by a lovely chap from Liverpool. I mentioned that our French 75 cocktail was not as good as the one at lunchtime, took that off the bill which was a complete surprise. The customer service was excellent and we had a lovely chat too. This was at St Pancreas st. The Irishman

Disappointed to say the least

Went with my Mrs for our anniversary afternoon tea which was gifted to us as a present, when we arrived we was not greeted at the front, then once we sat down we told the waiter we had asked for the halal option but she just said you can have the vegan option, after another staff came and saw we didn’t get even the afternoon tea and said where’s your tea? We were left very disappointed and won’t be recommending any of our friends nor family here.

belated birthday treat

It was a belated birthday treat for a friend , so as a surprise I booked cocktails at the Iris and dinner at helix in the Gherkin. I had been before for lunch but this was the first time I’d experienced an evening visit . Was not disappointed. The view as you come up the stairs and see the 360’ night view of the city lights and buildings - stunning ! My friend was blown away .
Have to say this place is exceptional on all levels - staff , ambience and value for money .
We had two cocktails ( Regal Noir and a Moe’z espresso ) in the bar , with a beautiful view of the city lit at night and those tasty cocktails was a great start to the evening .
Then we moved down to Helix for our 3 course set menu . Great choices for all types of tastes and dietary requirements .we did order a side of mash as you will need sides with the main dish but again, reasonably priced . Waiting staff were all attentive and very pleasant, one of our servers (Roo) was so pleasant and helpful , this really made an already great meal even more perfect .
I had a Searcy 1847 card ( do recommend investing. In one of these !) so we also got 10% off the whole bill.
I dine out a lot ( Michelin starred etc) and this was an experience that left some of those higher end restaurants in the shade.
Will be back again soon and recommend this as a hidden gem in the city with a view and great food and cocktails .

Helix @ The Gherkin

I recently discovered this place following a business meeting. The views are amazing! To have 360 views of London was truly incredible. The service was 10/10, we were greeted and looked after well.

We had the 3-course menu approx £55PP which is slightly pricey but hey it is London. My shrimp starter was tasty, however, my chicken main and treacle tart were ok.

Altogether the experience was great but with so much choice in London, I won't be back for a while.

AVOID BUYING SEARCYS GIFT CARDS

Bought a 12 month gift card prior to covid 19 for a special occasion for our anniversary.
The card was due to expire during covid lockdown , so they validated it for another 6 months. As Covid restrictions were still in place , we were unable to use it due to the travel & county restrictions in place .so I contacted them via e-mail to ask for another extension & they still haven't even bothered to reply.
What a waste of money ! Extremely disappointed with them .
DO NOT PURCHASE GIFT CARDS FROM THEM . Go direct to the venue for good customer service .

Helix by Searcys - The Gherkin, London

It was my friends birthday and I wanted to give her a special experience for the day, so I made a reservation for afternoon tea in the Helix Restaurant at the top of the Gherkin Tower in London.
The whole experience was absolutely amazing; the views are spectacular, the food and drink were first class, and the service provided by Elena was outstanding - such a kind, friendly, bubbly, considerate, helpful and polite young lady who made our time there extra special - THANK YOU!!!!
I would have no hesitation whatsoever in highly recommending The Helix experience - it was a wonderful afternoon.
