Pretty impressed with Selco aftercare services. We bought patio doors over 5 years ago that developed a significant fault that meant the door always had a big gap at the top when closed. Given that... See more

Delivery cancelled 2 days running
Delivery cancelled 2 days running. Booked for a Friday delivery, called to ask what time and was given a slot. Got back home to phone call saying they needed to reschedule for the next day in the morning. Next day, no delivery and got a call at 1pm saying it will now be 1st thing Monday. Whole weekend of work not carried out due to Selco Solihull not delivering the goods.
That store costuner servive is wery poor is not first time i feal like that tore dont give deam about costuner !
IIs not the first time I feel no one gives a damn about customer service there! I'm a small business! I try to avoid that store! But some products you can't get other places but that customer service.
Placed first order
Placed first order, they sent damaged wood, I called them they agreed to replace it they told me to dispose of the old wood, then they called me and said they wouldn’t have asked me to throw the old pieces away. This company is ridiculous.
Following a house fire we had to have some fencing replaced as part of the works I placed a wood order and arranged for a fencer to replaced the fire damaged sections
Second order Didn’t deliver it, no communication from selco just took my money then didn’t deliver so now I have to go and buy wood from somewhere and rearrange the fencer
Selco are too inconvenient for my needs and I’ve decided to make a complaint and not use them again. This way they can’t let you down anymore

Shocking Treatment by Manager at Staples Corner Branch
I’ve been a loyal Selco customer for over three years and have spent more than £1,000 in the last month alone across different branches. I usually find Selco’s staff extremely helpful—especially at Honeypot Lane—but a recent incident on 08/04/2025 at the Staples Corner branch has left me traumatised and seriously questioning my loyalty to the brand.
I arrived around 17:22 needing ten MDF boards cut. A staff member named Makbul was polite, professional, and clearly knew his job. We were nearly done by about 17:50 when another customer came along. Shortly thereafter, the manager, Aswad, appeared. Without so much as a greeting, he began shaking his finger in my face, ranting that I shouldn’t come close to closing time with so many cuts. His hostility and dismissive attitude were so shocking that everyone around us froze. Instead of simply explaining any policy about late cuts, he treated me like a nuisance and abruptly told Makbul to stop helping me.
I tried to remain calm and even offered to let the other customer go first. However, Aswad continued to raise his voice, which only increased my anxiety. Eventually, he stomped off, and thankfully Makbul finished my cuts by 17:59. I paid at 18:02, loaded the boards, and sat in my car shaken and in tears—truly never expected this from a store I’ve trusted for years.
I understand there may be rules about cutting services near closing time, but the problem lies entirely in the manager’s delivery. The manner in which Aswad spoke to me was demeaning and completely out of order. No customer should be subjected to such aggression and disrespect.
Given this experience, I feel compelled to share my story so that no one else endures a similar ordeal. This manager’s behaviour was alarming, and I’m disappointed that Selco would allow someone like him to hold such a position. I genuinely hope Selco takes swift action to address this, as I won’t be returning until I see evidence that they’ve dealt with the issue.

Never let them cut sheets
Never let them cut your sheet materials in store. Despite that they can’t get your exactly provided measurements,THEY CANNOT EVEN CUT SQUARE! Tried multiple stores in London and everywhere the same! Just refining the materials and you end up wasting your time or even money. Not even single time or single cut was right.

Staff at the (Chelmsford) store…
Staff at the (Chelmsford) store actually asked me if I needed help, which I did, the proceeded to help me. I was having materials (timber) delivered and was anxious to get useful lengths with minimum waste. I discussed this at length at the counter, crossed my fingers and hoped the staff knew and understood what I was babbling on about.
The delivery duly arrived a couple of days later ( albeit without a promised heads-up call from the driver). I was very pleasantly surprised, the whole order was correct, the timber was of good quality and in the agreed lengths, so copious relief my end. All in all a rare positive experience. The delivery driver was very polite and professional, offering to help me with handling the materials, which as it happens, I didn’t need. It was like a trip back to a by-gone era, when folks cared.

Customers loosing faith in Selco
They always have items unavailable from that is listed on their website. this causes great inconvenience to their regular customers as anticipated delivery dates are dalayed. This is happening more and more often.
If selco does not look after their customer base, they are likely to place orders with their competitors.
The delivery driver was unhelpful
The delivery driver was unhelpful. Despite having plenty of space to offload just two items, he chose to complain about what he was not allowed to do instead of completing the delivery. I had no option but to cancel the order.
Just a week ago, I received another delivery from your company with many items, and the driver had no issues offloading them. However, when I called the Sutton branch to cancel this order, the person I spoke to, named Andy, showed no interest in resolving the problem. His response reflected very poor customer service.
If your company is unable to deliver just two items, perhaps you shouldn't offer delivery services at all.
