I researched quite a few sites before making my outdoor furniture purchase, and was originally excited to have found selectfurnishings.com, however my excitement soon turned to nothing but anger and frustration.
When making my original purchase, I actually spoke to a person on the phone. She was very pleasant. There were two questions that I had which were very important.
1. Will you be selling covers for this furniture?
2. Do you offer white glove delivery service? (as my furniture was going up to the roof deck of the three unit walk up)
The answers were:
1. Yes we will, sometime in September. This never happened, they never offered covers.
2. Yes, and because part of your order is back-ordered, we will give you that for free. It is normally $125. – even though this was on my receipt, they stopped offering this service sometime between my purchase and the actually delivery!!
That was only the BEGINNING of the trouble I had. THINGS WENT NO WHERE BUT DOWN HILL FROM THERE. My 4-6 week back-order became 11 weeks. When I called repeatedly, I was told “it will be here in the next two days and will be sent out to you immediately.” I head that comment for OVER 4 WEEKS! At one point I was offered a $200 credit because the order had not come. I asked for another color of cushion covers instead, since that would cost $200 (and it would easier than putting a credit on a credit a credit card that had been cancelled due to fraud). They said they would ship the covers right out – even before my furniture actual order had arrived.
This was all done over e-mail, as they have stopped answering the phones.
The furniture arrived, finally, and the sofa was completely warped (not from weather, but built defectively). I have not received my cushion covers or my $200 refund. I have inquired via e-mail three times. I got one response saying someone would get back to me on a Monday. I have not heard back from him, nor have I received a response to my two other inquiries. NO ONE IS ANSWERING THE PHONE at this company.
While I do finally have my order (even with a warped, defective sofa), I would NEVER EVER do business with this company again, and I would NEVER EVER recommend anyone else does either (regardless of the good prices). You will experience nothing but frustration. It amazes me that they are still in business. BUYER BEWARE!
