After researching a report on 'Top 15 Australia's most trusted online trading companies for 2025', we chose two. (The 2nd and the 5th)
The 5th was Selfwealth, based on our investment intentions while we move towards our retirement phase. I can honestly say we have had the most engaging, supportive & helpful experience since making first contact with Selfwealth. Their online account application process is easy & super clear. The staff are knowledgable, polite and within easy reach, something that is seriously lacking in service today. Whether via email, phone or conference, they provide the easiest contact methods and also proactively contacted us during the set up process just to say hi & introduce themselves as our 'one on one support'. Whilst we're very early in the online trading process, I've found their portal to be easy, user friendly in navigating and they also provide training tutorials to support you at your own pace in learning, on top of the added personal contact. Thier Fee structure is completely transparent so you know for each trade how much is applicable. We are excited about partnering & building our share investment portfolio through Selfwealth & consequently, due to the service & support Selfwealth have shown, we have cancelled the 2nd Company application, as they do not come close to matching Selfwealth's Client Support ethics. We have experienced the complete opposite side of the coin with the 'other company who rated 2nd', complete lack of support, unable to contact, insisted a monetary amount was required at set up in order to progress the application faster, no office in Australia even though their website says they do, unwilling to return our funds and getting up at 4am in the morning to make constant follow up calls to Chicago to resolve 'so called system issues' preventing me from access to 'my' funds.
Selfwealth is 100% well above the so called 2nd - they should be 'Australia's Number 1 choice' hands down. You only need to set up an account for yourself to discover how good they are AND they dont request you deposit your funds prior to the account being activated.

I’ve had a great experience with SelfWealth. Their brokerage fees are highly competitive and the platform is simple to use, both on desktop and mobile. I especially appreciate the clear charts and helpful market depth information, which make tracking and trading straightforward.
A special mention goes to Nicholas in customer service who assisted me with a complex deceased estate account. He was prompt, kind, and focused on finding solutions—his support was a real asset during a difficult time.
The only suggestion I have is to include a phone support option for customers dealing with complex situations or bereavement. While chat and email are usually fine, speaking to someone would add a valuable level of support and understanding for those with sensitive needs.
Overall, SelfWealth is an excellent choice for investors.

Moved to Selfwealth in 2020 from CMC and it was a good move. Very simple to use and low cost brokerage. Plenty of options and upgrades if you want it, but also a great platform if you just want to use it to buy/sell and see how your shares are tracking.
