I bought my burstner elegance i821…

I bought my burstner elegance i821 yesterday from serenity. On arriving I was treated with Richard and my whole experience was fantastic, my Motorhome is stunning. Richard also went the extra mile when my insurance wouldn’t cover me which was my fault as I didn’t get a quote before buying.
Thankyou serenity. ❤️

Well where do you start with this crooked company and in particular Richard Adams.
I bought a 2015 Dethleffs Globetrotter XLI 7870 LHD with 19,000 miles ,which was the model I was looking for, on viewing the vehicle which was parked inside the warehouse, which looked fairly straight, I decided to purchase this vehicle as advertised with a new MOT for 12 months, New habitation certificate and fully serviced, I was told it would be fully valeted also and that two new lithium habitation batteries had been fitter by previous owner.( a lie it never had any lithium batteries)
I collected the vehicle and proceeded to drive back to Southampton.
On the way back the gear changing was extremely sluggish also the dashboard was rising up and down where the screws were missing that should have been securing it, also the valet had not been done cobwebs and dirt and filth was an understatement,
On filling up with diesel it was noted there cover was stuck down with white putty !, I continued to Southampton and was reversing into my driveway and although on a very flat surface from the road the auto gearbox started to overheat instantly and smoke and smell badly. Also I noticed that on locking the habitation door had been tampered with, although it would lock it could be unlocked with any key !!!
I was due to go to north wales that weekend and contacted Richard by email that there was some problems,
1. The Gearbox / clutch
2. The vehicle could not be secured
I explained the insurance company would not cover me if the vehicle could not be locked and that I needed an engineer to check the gearbox problem as I really didn’t fancy breaking down in the middle of nowhere in Wales!!!
He replied in his view there was absolutely nothing wrong with the gearbox and completely ignored the door lock problem,.
So I was stuck not being able to use the vehicle for the purpose it had been purchased for.
I contacted my finance company and explained the situation I was in and informed Serenity that under the consumers right act I did not want the vehicle and have it returned to serenity.
Richard point blank refused to take it back both from myself and the finance company and return the funds this was within 48hrs of purchase.
The vehicle then sat in my drive, I had my lawyers set out the law to Serenity and Richard Adams and request the return of the MH which he still refused, all within the 7 days.
So as this all went on between myself and the finance company the Ombudsman was brought in and they took up the case, during the months that followed the skylight was found to leaking badly damaging the seating, and further problems were coming to light , the habitation control panel was faulty and not showing the 12v and 230v lights etc, this panel to buy new is £750 alone but I managed to get a repair at Apuljacks for £350, the MOT was not for 12months and only had been for 6months which I did not notice until later as it should have been for 12 months, on getting a pre MOT check it failed as the tyres were out of date !!! And then I realized why serenity hadn’t put a new 12 months on BECAUSE THEY WOULD HAVE FAILED IT so a quote for 6 new tyres £2,750.00 ! We’ll it didn’t end there, a quote for fixing the roof leak ( taking the skylight out and resealing) re upholstering the seats, the cost was escalating.
Then came the gearbox check by Adams Morey Portsmouth, the gearbox clutch system was deemed completely kaput and needed reconditioning, £5,800.00 so to cut a long story short, the ombudsman then negotiated a £16,000 bill to put the vehicle to where it should be and I had been financing to stop further degradation.
The finance company are now litigating Serenity Leisure ( Richard Adams) for this amount plus costs, this company and this man is the most dishonest dealer ever, he was also advertising
That he was a member of the NCC and their logo on his invoice heading, when contacted by myself and the finance company the confirmed he was not and never been associated with them
and they were not amused, so please never believe a word that comes out of Adams mouth.

John Dent is very untruthful individual, not once corresponding with Serenity after 2 days of collecting this camper. A low mileage Dethleffs, just serviced by Chelston's a month before wesold it and given a clean bill of health. He turns up dripping in gold chains and sovereign rings (nice), giving it the large about what he's got, wants heavy finance to buy the camper, is turned down by everyone due to affordability and credit rating: basically he was up to his limit already on borrowing. We couldn't help him so finally gets his own finance elsewhere at a sub prime rate, collects camper, emails that eve to say none of the electrics work to which we assisted and basically he hadn't turned the 12V power on. Two days later, emails to say a small ext fridge catch is broken and he thinks there an issue with the gearbox. Nothing from him ever again up until now. He tried to back through the finance company but they stated directly to us that his case had absolutely no merit, so his claim was rejected by them. John Dent should be shamed for his untruths and stupidity in not listening and not being to operate the Motorhome despite a detailed hand over. He clearly cannot afford the monthly repayments for the motorhome after 14 months of ownership, therefore he attemps to invent issues to try to back it which are unfounded. A very uncouth, untrustworthy and unfriendly individual who clearly would not address his issues (if any) directly, choosing to hide behind the internet to air his frustration instead.
