Great service
Advisors are quick to respond and very helpful, especially to the less-experienced among us.
The only thing preventing a 5-star review is a slight lack of transparency in pricing. For example, SG offered to handle Companies House verification on my behalf, but I only became aware of the additional fee when I received an invoice for the services after they were rendered.
Great service. Just be sure to verify fees for additional fees before accepting the offer for assistance.

They're quick and good at the basics like filing returns and servicing customers. However, they put me on the wrong vat scheme which cost me 1000s and they would not accept the blame. They also failed to advise me properly around closing my business which almost cost me 1000s in additional tax - thank god i asked chat gpt for advice

I've used SG Accounting since they first helped me set up my LTD some nine years ago. The accountant I'd given up hoping for — this is what good looks like
I AM 6 MONTHS IN NOW. After years of disappointing experiences with other accountants, I arrived at SG Accounting with low expectations. They changed that quickly.
Poor service, lack of proactive advice, and being left to navigate significant tax issues without guidance had left me frustrated and cautious. SG Accounting has been the opposite of all of that.
From day one, onboarding was smooth and complete — payroll, VAT, agency invoicing, HMRC setup, FreeAgent, all handled properly and without me having to chase. When I've asked questions I wasn't sure about, I've never been made to feel I should already know the answer. When I've been slow to respond, I've been guided without pressure.
Frances sets a clear standard and it shows across the whole team — every interaction has been consistent, professional and genuinely supportive.
For the first time in years I have real confidence that my finances are in good hands. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend SG Accounting to any contractor looking for an accountant who actually does what they say they will.

We;ve been with SG for three years now and everything has always gone smoothly. Advice is plentiful, always given with more than good grace and normally PDQ. We deal with Sam Chinery mostly and he has always been excellent. Could only recommend them.

Saved me from my previous accountant - SG are in a different league! Superb.
I came to SG after a very disappointing experience with my previous accountant who left things confused, reactive and frankly stressful because they failed to stay in touch as much as they promised. By contrast, Frances and the SG team went through everything with a fine‑tooth comb, identified the mess that had been created then quietly and dilligently put it right.
Their customer service is excellent: they are friendly, knowledgable and proactive which has taken a huge administrative weight (and worry) off my shoulders. Instead of firefighting problems caused by my previous accountant's complacency and disorganisation I now have clear numbers, clear options and a team that’s on top of things.
Frances and SG have completely transformed my experience of dealing with accountants. After what I’d put up with before, I honestly can’t recommend them highly enough. Huge thank you to Frances and everyone on the SG Accounting team.
