I wish I had the option of awarding more stars as the personalised accountancy service provided by Frances Bridge at SG is truly second to none. I transferred my Company accounts to SG during the summer, after many years with another accountancy firm that sadly lost its customer focus, and I have been absolutely delighted by the help provided by SG - I'm kicking myself now that I didn't transfer earlier. All outstanding financial requirements were resolved by Frances within days of me joining (eg updating company records, addressing delayed HMRC submissions etc) and through the various meetings I’ve had with her and her team, she has been able to return the company to accounting stability. If I was to sum up SG's support succinctly, I’d say that their efforts mean that once again I can sleep soundly at night and you can’t ask for more than that can you?

I was made redundant and my last leaving day was in March yet I was paid in leu for April which made for a complex tax situation. In addition my new role saw me paid by a US company via Deel and I set up my own company and payroll to process.

This is a very complex situation and yet Laura and the rest of the team gave fantastic advice and everything was resolved to my satisfaction.

I started my company in 2023 with a solid understanding of my business but absolutely no experience on the finance side. After being let down terribly by my previous accountant, who did little more than register me for VAT, I turned to SG Accounting. Within days, I had my first meeting with Laura Hepworth, a Senior Client Director, who took me through everything step by step.

Following that meeting, I was immediately contacted by various team members, gathering the necessary information and ensuring I was registered with the appropriate authorities. This highlighted just how badly my previous accountant had let me down. In no time at all, SG Accounting had everything up and running, and I was back on track with the relevant authorities.

Laura and the team have been exceptional, and if I could give them a 10-star review, I would. Equally, Brandon Moody, an Accounts Associate, deserves his own 10-star review for tirelessly sorting through two years of accounts (once again, due to my previous accountant's negligence). He has patiently explained everything, chased after information, receipts, and invoices, and has been incredibly supportive throughout.

If you're a contractor whose core business isn’t accounts, I highly recommend SG Accounting. They have gone above and beyond in getting my accounts sorted quickly, all for the same price I paid my previous "accountant." 5 stars all the way!

After various issues getting FreeAgent set up I had a very constructive and informative phone session with Chris Park of S&G.
Chris took me through the various tools, functions and how to define and call up reports of FreeAgent which gave me much more confidence in using that software as an accounting tool in a small business.

SG Accounting has been a lifesaver in resolving my issues with HMRC, against all the odds. Laura and Tom, in particular, went above and beyond to get things sorted, and their support has been invaluable. The whole team has been brilliant, making a stressful situation much easier to navigate.

I was a little sceptical moving from a small firm to a big one, but they have not disappointed. The team are responsive, there are individual specialists but everybody seems looped in to what is going on and the software they use has been user friendly. I really like having an account manager to contact with any questions. Would recommend!

I recently transferred my accountants over to SG Accounting, having been dissatisfied with my previous service. I was expecting it to be quite a hassle, but thankfully the transition has proved easy.

SG Accounting provides access to FreeAgent as part of their services and the onboarding session their Accounts Consultant (Thomas A) provided was absolutely top tier.
He walked me through each of the key areas step-by-step and pointed out useful information as we went. Even when I deviated the topic to some general accountancy queries linked to the FreeAgent tab we were discussing at the time, he answered my query with full knowledge & background information. He also followed up very quickly in an email a side query I had regarding VAT calculations and provided the numbers behind it.
At the end of our call, not only do I feel fully comfortable with using FreeAgent, but I understood & learnt a lot more about managing my business accounts thanks to Tom.
