Good and easy to use site

Good and easy to use site. I like it.
The mark-down to 3 stars stems from their very small choice on NASDAQ stocks they allow for ISA's.
While they do point out there are purchase delays is US stocks, these "delays" are getting far too long and they need to sharpen up.

Simple, competitive but dealing delays are a big issue and lack transparency

All of our family members have Share Centre Accounts and in general the web platform is easy to use, once you have authenticated etc. However, one MAJOR failing is the total lack of transparency on unit trust dealing times. I have seen criticisms here from equity investors who don't have their transactions enacted within 15 mins. For unit trust transactions this can extend to 4-5 days. In these turbulent times this simply isn't good enough and I will be investigating alternative platforms for comparison.

Daily price movements tend to be small, so generally, funds (including unit trusts) are valued once a day usually at 12 noon. Orders placed before our cut-off time of 10 am will usually be traded at that day's price, with the results being received the following day from the Fund Manager. Orders placed after our cut off time will usually be traded at the following day's price. Offshore funds and funds that have a valuation point other than 12 noon, may take a little longer for the results to be received from the Fund Manager.

Funds can take a little longer than the usual T+2 days to settle compared to Ordinary Shares. This can vary between T+2 and T+4 where T is the trading day that the order is placed. Once an order is placed with the Fund Manager, you will receive a contract note confirming all the details.

I'm sure that this site would be fine…

I'm sure that this site would be fine to use, if you could actually access it. I have not been able to get into my account for months now as you cannot reset your login details unless you phone them, but their opening hours are only available while I am at work with no access to my phone. Not only this, but when I finally managed to get a time to phone them, they sent me out a new password in the post, but this isn't even the problem I am having as I can't get to the password entry screen. All I can do is enter my customer number before the message pops up so where am I supposed to enter this temporary password?

If you are unable to remember your log in details, such as your password or memorable word, the details can be reset through your online account by clicking onto the forgotten password, memorable word or customer reference link; this would send a verification code to your email address and allow you to reset/ retrieve your log in details.

If you do need to speak to us directly about resetting your log in details and you are unable to call our customer service team, you can email us on services@share.co.uk and we will be able to assist you.

No interest on Cash ISA

I opened a lifetime cash ISA but had difficulties logging into my account for a long time. This was partially my fault for misplacing my customer number but the process was not simple to retrieve it. There was no online reminder link, forgot password link etc like most other sites. The system has changed slightly now but the combination of user ID numbers and passwords is not that simple. Although you get the government 25% bonus there is no interest at all. I have opened an account with a company called Moneybox to transfer my ISA into as they offer over 1% interest in addition to the government bonus.

We do not offer cash accounts at The Share Centre, our accounts are stocks and shares accounts only. We do not pay interest on any cash left in a Lifetime ISA account opened with us as the opportunity is to invest any cash paid into the account.

We do advise for all customer's to research the type of account they would like to open with us to ensure it will be right for them before proceeding with opening an account.

Regarding online access, if our customers cannot remember their log in details there are options to request forgotten details online which would allow a verification code to be sent by email to reset a password or retrieve a customer reference number. You can also contact our customer service team for assistance with resetting log in details.

Again, I am sorry to hear that you were unhappy with your account, however, if we can be of any further help in the future please don't hesitate to contact us.

Not a customer but checking them out

Not a customer but checking them out. Gave 4 star as like look of website and app. Have a suggestion for them. They allow you to start with a practice account to see how it all fits and works together but it does not allow you to see or use this practice account in the App. Well not from what I can see. Pity as I wanted to see how easy it all might be before I transfer in. Perhaps they could add this to the app.

Share centre is a gem

Share centre is a gem. Wonderful team really friendly helpful nice people. I’m trembling in case the takeover by interactive investor where I had a very bad experience with respect to customer service which took me to the ombudsman will destroy the fantastic service and personal nature. Share Centre needs to try and remain separate from the rest of the interactive to the extent possible its quality service must not be contaminated

Polite , professional service .

I found it quite easy to deal with the Share Centre team via the telephone .
All of the staff were polite and helpful , and after getting my Account updated , I was able to purchase the shares of my choice .
I had not dealt with the Share Centre for a number of years , but their staff gave me the confidence to once again start to trade !
